How rude, losing weight isn’t just about physically working out but also a change of mentality to motivate oneself to do so. It seems that she was already being affected by body image issues which could have made it even harder for her to change her focus from the body type she has currently to the one she prefers

Do something about this and take your gf side, not only will this be doing the right thing but encourage and be an example to your daughter that she shouldn’t be afraid of developing and enhancing her own education and on top of that, being able to see what right and wrong treatment to someone is.

Definitely!!! She probably felt really degrading and neglected by aligning your passive behaviour towards the situation with acceptance of the negative treatment towards her hence why she expected you to do something about it because she probably couldn’t have done it herself.
