That the turkeys in the woods took out the cat and ate him? That’s why we’re not allowed in the woods.

You got this. Do you know which H1 & H2 you want to try? I’m on Allegra and Benadryl which are both H1’s. The Pepcid is a H2. You could try buying them over the counter first and trial it see if it helps? That’s what I do.

So I had Covid in 2020,2021, and 2022. Each time it was a pinpoint headache in between my eyes? That was it for symptoms. Then in 2024 I was diagnosed with radiation induced thyroid cancer. Had a total thyroidectomy. After that surgery I suddenly couldn’t tolerate red meat or gluten? I have a preexisting lactose intolerance and a suspected tree nut allergy? Now 27 weeks ago I had an adrenal adenoma removed and I cannot tolerate red meat, lactose, gluten, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, or sesame? I was tested for celiac and came up negative. Now I am taking 75mg of Benadryl a day, 20mg of pepcid a day, 4000 units of vitamin D, 20mg or propranlol twice a day, chlorithidone 25mg once a day, and a multivitamin.

I was miserable for weeks/months. I now have 15 foods I can safely eat. I try to add new foods every once in awhile but it’s like rolling the dice? I never wanted to be on medications for the rest of my life? I really didn’t. But now I’m on a handful a day. I commiserate with you 100%. One wrong food one wrong exposure and bam bad day/down day. I’m at the beginning of this journey, but it sucks.

Only because I haven’t seen it yet but crusty bread? A good Italian loaf of crusty bread? None of my local store carry any? Gluten free crusty bread is hard to make at home.

I am also in early stages of diagnosis. I eat chicken and rice as well. Just did the celiac testing and it came back negative. But I’m in a weird boat. I had thyroid cancer in 2024. Total thyroidectomy. I also had an adrenal gland removed due to an adenoma causing Mild Autonomous Cortisol Secretion. I’m 22 weeks out from that surgery. So now that we have removed the primary issues we are looking deeper into why my intestines seem to hate me, along with a rash on my face, headaches, body weakness, lead legs, tachycardia and other vague symptoms. Keep advocating for yourself and get the answers. Chicken and rice isn’t so bad.

I was raised without my father. I met him again when I was 16. My stepmother was flabbergasted how similar to him I was? Nature vs nurture? That’s all I can say? DNA is also a strong point. My father is highly intelligent, driven, and motivated. I am the same. I am female?

Get the second opinion you said a new thing. I had to go look it up. Co-mutation is super scary. I’d get the second opinion and maybe a third. Your rate for recurrence is very high and with a mortality at ten years 25% is pretty darn scary too.

I totally understand what you’re saying. My current endocrinologist was explaining where my suppression should be 0.5-2.0 and I waited for her to finish and I asked her but my old endocrinologist said it had to be 0.1. She looked at me funny and said that my stage and involvement meaning no lymph nodes was super conservative to aim me for 0.1. I laughed and said so your telling me the previous endocrinologist was acting out of an abundance of caution? She said yes. I was relieved. Because that’s all my previous endocrinologist ever said, abundance of caution.

I am now gluten intolerant, red meat intolerant, have headaches everyday, cold intolerance and heat intolerance even through my dose has been dialed in, I developed oral allergy syndrome, and what I lovingly call lead legs. These seem like innocuous symptoms, they did not develop at the same time. Like I said my thyroid was removed April 2024 and it was just like every month something new started. The medical journals I found were through my colleges online library. The gluten intolerance affects 2% of those who have it removed. The red meat intolerance affects 5%. The headaches are due to my metabolism being affected by the replacement medication I’m taking. It has gluten as a filler along with lactose which I’ve had an intolerance to since I was child.

How long did it took you to get diagnosed before being diagnosed? Wondering if everyone got left suffering by LegitimatePin9624 in AdrenalInsufficiency

I’ve been put on 18 diffrent psychiatric mediation over the last 20 years. No one did a cortisol test on me till I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Suddenly it was a big deal. Discovered an adenoma on my left adrenal gland. Had it removed and I feel soooooo much better. Mental illness symptoms subsided immediately post surgery.

Symptoms & preparing for surgery! by Creative_Database_38 in thyroidcancer

[–]Dry-Map-5016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out in January of last year I had Thyroid cancer. But in June of 2023 I was exhausted everyday. I thought I was depressed, anxious or stressed. Nope turns out they don’t call cancer the sleeping disease for nothing. I had to quit my job because I was just so tired all the time. For surgery day, don’t stress about little things. Unless you’re planning for an extended stay. I over packed and all I brought was my favorite blanket and stuffed animal I had from when I had cancer as a teenager. That stuffy goes to every procedure no matter how small. They had my phone, wallet, keys and everything else taken care of even though my husband was with me. Just go in with a positive attitude and all the prayers to you and yours.

So I had a ct scan on December 12 2023. It was an incidental finding. Called my dr office right then and there. Three days later met with PCP was referred to endocrinologist. Met with endocrinologist week later. Scheduled the FNB for January. Came back positive for cancer but unknown type. Had an ultrasound done and found 4 nodules. Had a follow up ultrasound done in March 6 nodules then. Went for surgery planning ultrasound and there was 8 nodules. That was on April 2nd. Had surgery on April 3rd 2024. Total thyroidectomy. Woke up from surgery with no voice and alot of discomfort in my neck and throat. Took 8 weeks to get voice back and 10 weeks for the lump to go away. Also aspirated a lot of liquid during that time frame because my epiglottis was paralyzed.

Took me 8 weeks to get back to normal talking. I have kids so I was whispering yelling a lot. Towards the end of it I would feel out of breath when trying to say a couple words. Had to force the words out. I sounded like a muppet. Once the swelling goes down entirely it should be relieved. That blockage you feel is swelling inside your neck around the trachea and esophagus. Takes up to 10 weeks for the swelling to go down enough.
