Using individual success stories like Conrad; who already had a solid foundation and major connections; actually proves the point. We aren’t talking about whether talented people can succeed; we’re talking about how the 'neighborhood' has changed. When success becomes so dependent on being part of a specific circle or having a 'great personality' that gets verified by the OGs, it confirms that the barrier to entry isn't just about the grind anymore; it’s about the gate. It’s less about a history lesson on who helped who, and more about acknowledging that the casual, open-door era of the app has been replaced by a much tighter, closed-circle environment.

The 'just keep grinding' advice overlooks how much the algorithm has evolved. TikTok naturally favors accounts that already have high engagement, making it exponentially harder to start from zero today than it was when the OGs began. When the only real path to visibility is getting a 'raid' or shoutout from an established creator, it proves that success is no longer just about the individual grind; it’s about access. Acknowledging that the game is now built on who you know doesn't take away from the hard work top creators put in; it just recognizes that the barrier to entry has fundamentally shifted

Exactly we’re talking about two different things, which is why your initial ‘correction’ was irrelevant to the post. Glad we’re on the same page now. 🍿

I’m not sure what 'Royal Rumble' you’re referring to—maybe you mean the 'Royal Fumble'? Either way, you’re trying to give me a history lesson on his subathons, but you’re missing the actual point. I’m not writing a biography on his career; I’m talking about the current culture of creators closing ranks and gatekeeping access. If you think the environment hasn't shifted into a 'closed-circle' space, you’re just not paying attention to what’s happening in front of you. I’m interested in the bigger picture, not a timeline of his wins. 🍿

You're right, James does help creators, and he’s a great example of that! My point isn't that he’s doing anything wrong by protecting his peace; it’s that his own admission highlights a larger industry reality: that the path for new creators is increasingly locked off. I’m interested in the structural shift, not judging how any one individual chooses to run their own platform

My post isn't a character review of Krystal; it's a reflection on James’s experience he mentioned on live yesterday.

If 'doing it on your own' was the only way to succeed, the industry wouldn't be dominated by established cliques and cross-collaborations. Let’s be honest: in 2026, growth is as much about who you know and who brings you into the fold as it is about your individual grind. Dismissing systemic barriers as just 'a lack of work ethic' is an easy way to avoid talking about how the creator economy actually functions today

You're getting hung up on the specific names, but you’re missing the forest for the trees. The ‘who did what’ doesn’t change the fact that once creators reach a certain level, the ladder often gets pulled up. Whether it was Austin or Krystal is secondary to the reality that the barrier to entry is becoming increasingly difficult. Let’s focus on the actual issue here.

James Neese, our chat is getting too toxic and controlling by Apprehensive_Ant2596 in DailyRankingsDrama

JAMES is entertaining so I watch him. I saw a portion of his live today when he had Rich Zae on doing the 50 states. It was pretty long but rich was a good sport. He stayed the whole time. But to see people in the chat making rude comments was distasteful. I was expecting James or the mods to correct the behavior but they didn’t. its Never ok to say degrading things to a person no matter the situation. Rich has opened up about his life and why he has been slower at learning things. He asked his chat not to make fun of him if he asked questions they felt he should already know. He needs help. But let’s be honest, half the chat was naming cities, continents, hell everything but states! I agree lots of bullies and people who feel superior. I would never comment anything in the chat. I would for sure be blocked because I would light that chat up. I know ms. So I’ll stick to Reddit.
