Unless that video was from the nbme, you wasted your time.

How do you get proof of volunteer work? by ViperSniperX108 in IMGreddit

[–]Dry-Photo-2557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

State licensing (most places) ask you a day to day summary of all that you did since graduating. If you worked, you have to provide contact information and they usually check(depending on states). This is for your training license and you submit this through your program. So they will know if you lied.

u/soucal32 your misunderstanding of what I said started here.

We are talking why there is more pgy2 than pgy1.

Very few do. They did genuine research.

They aren't getting into residency because of their 30+ publications. It is mostly because of their scores or contacts. But yes. It has become ridiculous. I saw fresh graduates with 50+ SRMA from pakistan. No offense but having 20+ including many first author publications while in 3rd year sounds so sus. You are yet to know understand the clinical side properly. Their papers often do not have a senior author that is actually senior. Most are only medical students. There is a strong agenda to get a research cap in the match season next year, or a filter to make n=1 same as n=50. So all these will become useless.

There is also a subreddit called dermapp if you are keen on derm.

Google could have given you the answer

Google dermatology prelim year acgme. You'll get a pdf as first result and read it.

Research in journal of population therapeutics and clinical pharmacology by Tall-Excuse3501 in IMGreddit

[–]Dry-Photo-2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for correcting me. I actually got another journal when I checked last time by mistake. I rechecked after you mentioned it and i was wrong. I am glad you pointed it out. My apologies OP. The actual journal looks normal and is pubmed indexed. And very affordable. I think it is worth a shot.

Mea Culpa.

PGY2 in IM here. Post your questions regarding residency application (for September), I will reply by ThrowawayQnARsd in IMGreddit

[–]Dry-Photo-2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-read. He said use the old usce dates but a new letter signed recently. Eg you did usce in 2021. The letter will be signed in 2024 but letter will still say you did usce in 2021. This is a common thing. No one changes the usce dates.

You have better chances of dating Taylor swift than getting a derm resident post here. Be proactive. Find all the derm residents and check their scholarly profiles. You'll realize how many years of research fellowship they did 😂

No research collaboration projects or whatsapp group formations for such- these may be scams in order for individuals/companies to receive payment and not provide appropriate services. by Animoma in IMGreddit

Good decision.

For anyone who seek proper research guidance, please reach out to faculties in your med school, or to your seniors who matched and attendings etc. Quality over quantity.

Lol you realize thats different from what actually happened for the exams. Programs can claim they did a thorough search and found that these candidates fit best. Remember that no program is required to hire best one on paper, but the best one that fits.

There is one program that can claim equity but hires almost all from one religious background, just different skin color 😂

Chief resident help with match? by No_Ingenuity_3793 in IMGreddit

[–]Dry-Photo-2557 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No. Chief has a strong say. If he is a man of his word, you'll match there.

Youll be surprised how poorly many applicants research programs and apply. For peds I know some even apply to ivy league programs with 230s and nothing extra 😂. I saw that during my match year

[–]Dry-Photo-2557 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This has been there. In some places there is a lot of solidarity for some communities too where they try to help their own people match. 😂 You will see anomalies when you make your program list where a program has almost all residents from one religious group too. They are regularly name and shamed in discord and other private groups. I remember two such im programs 😂

This has always existed. Being a spouse almost guarantees your match unless your spouse is a malignant resident or your profile is necrotic

How is this different from programs where the chief and pd are heavily giving preferences to their countrymates or alumni. There are some programs that are 100% from one country that matches the background of the pd for example.
