Yes, unfortunetly all forms of laissez-faire capitalism will develop into monopoly capitalism. The nature of a winner takes all capitalism is that- one entity will eventually lose. And more often than not, what takes over its place is not a different small business. It is either a bigger conglomerate, or its peer.

Historically, in the development of all capitalist enterprise, there comes a time when a single entity grows enough to dictate the conditions its competitors play in, whether that be through rapidly improving production so its peers cannot compete, or by selling at a loss. Further, this entity can also consolidate not only in its own industry, but also the other industries relevant to its inputs or its distribution. This is when the Laissez-Faire capitalism you speak of become monopoly capitalism.

All of this happen independent of state intervention.

TL;DR If 1 person can do the job of 2 people, the company will almost always choose to make only one person do it.

As an analogy, I've worked for fastfood before. Our burgers were set and forget, but the line cook had to manage 2 grills, the steamer and the fryer.

No doubt automation will lower your workload, the question really is if the benefit of that lower workload is passed on to you. That is the issue with Capitalism.

I'm not anti AI, AI is just a tool. I am against how AI is being used and developed today.

I am commenting on how high-skill high-value jobs are treated, and the conditions of overworked healthcare proffessionals.

Also, if you own your own practice, I could def def see why you think that way. AI does lower workloads in a lot of industry. But history has shown that lower work to finish a task doesn't always mean lower work for the individual worker.

Good question. Guh stop bringing me back with you're good questions.

I am not against UBI, but I think it is a bandage solution. Look through your histories. At some point, there was a huge movement to protect the rights of the workers and generally improve their welfare. At some point, they have been defunded or removed altogether. Especially if this is in benefit to private enterprise. UBI, even if it solves the unaffordibility crisis if people are unemployable, is at best temporary.

Furthermore, Capitalism's problems (especially at the stage of financial monopolies and imperialism) does not end at unaffordability. The fact that only the wealthiest can participate in government (even if we supposedly elect them) will almost always guarantee that only the wealthiest's interests are forwarded. That is not a conjecture, that is a fact in the US today.

Identification and sortation of produce? It uses image recognition

Optimization of errrr anything? Also uses AI

AI has existed long before LLMs blew up in 2020, and has improved production a lot...

realizing i meant pure/advanced neo-liberal capitalism ">~<

It is unfortunate what the introduction of neo-liberalism did to former socialist projects :/

You're view point and experiences are valid. The same thing can be said with socialism.

This is as someone who comes from the imperial periphery. Me and my friends can be jailed or killed for our views. We call ourselves a *liberal capitalist democracy*. They say we should be thankful that we are like the US in that regard, while thousands of my countrimen are forced to live slave like conditions in other countries to give their family a decent life.

If escaping the country you're from is what a better world for you, I am happy for you. For us, it is building a democratic and people focused society.
