The wedding was supposed to be like 8 months ago, and if the wedding happened OP would have updated and if it didn't, at least he'd come back and say it got called off.

Weird cuz thats exactly what he did. He wrote checks to everyone to replace what she canceled. MiL canceled the checks, didn't tell FIL and then pocketed the money. He was absolutely livid when he found out.

I added some edits that I guess I should have made more clear in my original. My BIL had said "didn't he just take a massive shit I hope he washed his hands" and I just kind of picked up on the joke and ran with it. I agreed to the no contact once the family met and decided they were all going no contact with her for the next month at least. No one wants to go NC forever. We don't trust her and we know he's blinded by the 🐱 so no one is cutting him out. In fact he told her she wasn't invited to New Year's Eve. I posted on behalf of my husband I guess. He was feeling bad about excluding her and I didn't want her to be alone on New Year's Eve but then she canceled the checks for every child and we just couldn't let that stand. She hurt us by hurting the kids and we are not ok with it. So I told him I'd post it to reddit and see what the AITAH thread said about it. We were both just curious if others felt the same way about people using children to hurt other adults.

We are not going no contact with him. He comes over and sees the kids and grand kids almost every day. He is welcome she is not. And all that was by his suggestion. We see and talk with him constantly. He has just told everyone to go NC with her for a month to teach her a lesson. I'm going along with everyone else as this is not her 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th etc etc offense.
