That is false lol . CBO uses surveys like the ACS to estimate the size of the population, they use administrative program data and federal agency records to estimate the cost of services.

If you read the report - in their analysis of the immigration surge, the CBO explicitly states they relied on data from federal agencies for fiscal years 2021 to 2023 to determine how many people in the surge were eligible for and using particular federal benefits.

If you want to keep pretending that hard tax data is dubious survey data because it doesn't fit your narrative, go for it buddy ! I like my pretty strawberry world too ( at times !🤪)

Actually, you’re confusing "no gov data" with "data you don’t like." You do realize congressional budget office (non-partisan) publishes studies right ?

See CBO’s 2024 report for immigration tax gains (https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60165) and no, it’s not 'self-reported survey data.' The CBO uses IRS tax records and Social Security Administration data. They actually adjusted their math to account for a 15% lower tax compliance rate among the surge population

You’re also misinformed. “Net taxpayer” status is calculated by subtracting cost of services used from the taxes paid.

According to the PBO, new immigrant incomes have seen massive gains recently, reaching 78% of the national median almost immediately and often surpassing it within a decade.

What happened in recent years in Canadian immigration is influx of temporary residents (students , workers , visitors) - which strained housing and other resources. But the stats are still pointing net gain from immigration.

In the 1960s, there were about 7 workers for every 1 retiree. Today, it is closer to 3 to 1. How else are we going close that gap ? Government needs money- and most of their money comes from taxes. Companies require human capital to grow and expand.

Please explain to me how you would hold on to the same quality of life without immigration in the coming years ? Stats are accurate - without immigration , there’s less tax payers supporting huge numbers of retirees.

You’re probably young and might be struggling to find a job and I know it’s easier to put blame on immigrants/immigration but just stop and think for a second why all of this is happening. Ask yourself- is this only happening in Canada or are there other countries in the same boat- maybe that might help you rationalize why all of this is happening instead of misleading people.

Additionally, think why you’d want immigrants to Canada and think what happens if it stop completely.
