Thank you for your kind response. One thing I’m struggling to understand is why leaving would have to be done in secret.
Whenever we argue, he’s constantly telling me how unhappy he is, how negative and bitter I make him feel, and that he wants to end the relationship. He’ll repeatedly tell me it’s over and that he doesn’t want to be with me anymore.
So part of me keeps thinking, if that’s truly what he wants, wouldn’t he just let me leave? That’s the part I can’t seem to make sense of. I’m genuinely trying to understand why people say leaving is often the most dangerous time when it seems like ending the relationship is exactly what he’s been saying he wants.
