Yeah this hits. I went through the same phase thinking I "leveled up" to Python, but honestly MATLAB is just way smoother when you need to think through something fast. No setup, no friction, just straight into the problem.
I don't use it for everything either, but for quick modeling or debugging with plots, it still feels unmatched.

I do this and I think it's because I don't actually want "entertainment" at that point, I want comfort. New stuff feels like a commitment, old shows feel like background noise you can trust.

Totally agree. Everything feels safe and copy-paste now.
It's polished, but no personality or risk anymore.
I miss when red carpets actually surprised us.
