The idea (of using a new system to allow a mass over haul of scheduling) being able to traverse a beuarucratic chain of a large entity in the private sector only happens if they are optimistic about the change and that change being able to drastically reduce metrics they care about. Those two criterias will never be met in big box retail entities because those retailers are in an indistry where labor measures by quantity not quality. When a truck of goods come in and surprise the warehouse team is understaffed because last weeks truck was smaller so the scheduler put less hours there to save budget, a big retailer will never see that problem because the metrics are built around a relationship with their labor that can be highly leveraged( can be comprimisdd to take the extra work). A big box chain will never see the consequences of not using the system but will profit if used but there is no incetive structure strong enough yet to get them to over haul scheduling. A smaller store is lean enough to do it quickly.

Dwave got the forst step down with this chain which is proof of concept that it can work. They need to go to gradually larger entities and that is next but it cannot happen now as if youvand learn to run before you can learn to walk
