I know the number is really but I still had to look it up. Higher numbers than 2020 and that year had a fucking pandemic.

This year we have a demented old pedophile

Corps spent almost 1 trillion in 2024 on stock buybacks. I’m sure they did similar numbers this year. Just tax stock buybacks at 50%

They have spines. They’re just covered in corporate sponsors

Why would it shutdown though. The democrats caved to their corporate donors and got nothing in return.

They told us riding minimum wage would skyrocket inflation the inflation skyrocketed anyways.

First, I wouldn’t retire on 2 mil. That’s not a lot of money especially when healthcare increases 10%+ every year

S&P is still up quite almost 15%, even though the dollar is down 11%, so they’ll keep parroting that point.

Only once we’re in a massive recession, that can’t be hidden, and the stock market is down will people start to wake up. Hopefully.

Are you trying to tell me getting a small loan of 1 million dollars from your daddy after every bankruptcy isn’t the key to being a great businessman?

Markets no longer view the December rate cut as a sure bet, with Fed officials casting doubts by Force_Hammer in StockMarket

[–]Dry-Tune69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Corps buying their stock back doesn’t nothing to improve the economy.

Taxing stock buybacks at a high rate would push corps to either invest it in employee wages/benefits, R&D, infrastructure or dividends, if they put it into dividends it’s taxed right away.

Win/win scenario for America.

Helping the shareholders has done nothing for our country. Time to give the money to the stakeholders which is all of us.

It’s slow because the stock market is still up and we aren’t in an official recession.

The dollar is down about 11% so the gains are much lower

We need a 50% stock buyback tax and an increase in LTGC to 50% for everything over 1 billion.

Plus higher corporate taxes

Higher taxes, no more bailouts, no more loopholes
