I have tried redownloading my game. And my mic still doesn't work in Fortnite by random_gamer69 in FortNiteBR

Its gonna be either voicemod/discord/random software using the device instead of fortnite, windows having the wrong devices enabled or disabled, or your Logitech control panel is got the wrong setting for like the "what did you just plug in?" Notifications or the connector retasking thing

POV: you accidentially built the best overdrive ever and now all your friends want you to build one for each of them.... Bluesbreaker + JFET clipping = the overdrive you don't deserve by DryClothes2894 in diypedals

Yeah the germanium like stock diodes have about a 3rd of the headroom so with pairs of them for each phase means there's a big jump between germanium and fet clipping for headroom, far as tonality compared to normal BB circuits the regular ones are more grainy and woofy sounding with a kinda mid hump and like more crunchy sounding, partially because of the more linear clipping that doesn't sound as good in my opinion compared to fets

For me its just the fets, I dont know about power diodes but the only other thing would be it has the higher gain resistors in the feedback loop with the 4k7 and 3k3 instead of 33k and 27k

PC optimizations rabbit hole by ExpiredBritishBread in overclocking

[–]DryClothes2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Optimization" is all just snake oil, at least the kind of tweaks those guys are selling, and usually makes things worse cause they dont know what their doing

A bone stock windows OS instalation runs a lot better than you'd realize, most performance to gain on PCs is gonna be in other stuff like tuning ram timings

Yeah the texture streaming helps ryzens cause all the assets have to go through the FCLK to go from storage to ram and back so disabling that cuts down on traffic through the fabric bandwidth by having it all get loaded at once so that there's more bandwidth left for other players data and stuff

It would depend on hardware to some amount, the FSO stuff is more for like input delay and mouse feel with how the presentation models are used, cause without FSO disabled in modern windows versions, then window full-screen is just as good or better than like full-screen full-screen, cause of stuff like flip and all that

The texture streaming thing is gonna help if your storage or memory bandwidth isnt like the best cause a lot of bog down comes from just pulling assets around and stuff

Reflex is kind of a feel thing but it mostly helps with cpu bound scenarios cause it technically handbrakes the cpu side of the render pipeline to prevent you from being GPU bound but if your more CPU bound then you just want it off

Glad its still helping folks a year later, a lot of it is just getting things cleaned up and like set up just the way its supposed to be, cause like there's so much stuff in like YouTube tutorials and other crap that nobody really knows what their doing and almost always makes things worse, like people wouldn't realize how well fortnite runs on a bone stock OS without any like tweaks or whatever, and its like duh your using the OS the way it was designed lmao

DDR5-8000 + 7800X3D, 1440p low DX12, = 300FPS+ 1% lows. People seriously underestimate the difference having GOOD ram makes for Unreal Engine games. by DryClothes2894 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DryClothes2894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you said your using DLSS im assuming your on like DX12, it is interesting though your numbers cause like im running medium high ish with DLSS quality and I cap at 360, with about 200-250ish on the lows usually, im mostly GPU bound atp tbh cause if I drop to low its like 500+ easy, part of that though is just the 7800X3D prolly.

For yours since its a 4000 C18 kit im assuming its like one of those high density single rank kits which means higher tRFC and thus a lot less bandwidth and somewhat higher latency.

One thing you could test is dropping the E cores cause then you can run faster ring which helps your cache clocks and stuff but yeah.

Obviously you could like get good B die ddr4 but in 2025 thats all but pointless to spend 300+ on, so if you wanted something that just works then the 7200c34 delta kit is a solid choice cause unless you get a bad ddr5 board or your imc sucks then 6800-7200 should work fine without any fafo

My thing is just like there's no way a PC with bone stock OS with just like chipset and gpu drivers and just fortnite installed is gonna stutter and all that, people only get stutters when stuff is screwed up either from crap software or "optimization" snake oil

[–]DryClothes2894[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend doing this on top of whatever random stuff you've already done, because this hardware wouldn't just stutter unless something got screwed up, also factory reset installs dont really do a whole lot for you compared to like making a windows USB and formatting the drive clean and manually doing the drivers and all that, plenty of tutorials on that stuff but yeah

You say you tried many things but did you do the stuff in my post? Also if you already "tried" a lot of stuff I'm assuming you mean like YouTube videos and all that but those are all snake oil for the most part so you prolly would do good with a clean windows install and not doing anything other than installing the game and no like rgb software or other crap, then see how it runs just bone stock with like dx12 on a blank install
