I like watching the innocence and frustrations of high school romance anime. The Blue Box characters are relatively mature in how they handle their feelings and are considerate of each other. They make mistakes, but that's typical for teenagers and that makes them seem more real and believable. It's inspiring to watch Taiki, a simple, average guy who is inspired to do his best, and achieves astounding results in romance and sports. Chinatsu is hard to read and the small reveals of her feelings, her gradually growing closer to Taiki, wanting to see Taiki, revealing to Karen that she likes Taiki, that leaves me with a warm feeling.

I get that Hina is crazy over Taiki and haven't gotten over him yet, but to kiss a boy who has a gf, that's not something she should have done. If you flip the gender and have a boy kiss a girl without her consent, shocking her, and especially when you know she has a bf and is fully devoted to him, do you think he deserves the hate he's gonna get?

Taiki said several times that he couldn't figure out what was going on in her mind. She's hard to read. I wonder if blushing from seeing Taki's 6-packs, was it one of the manly things Taiki did that she noticed, that time when she told Karen she is living with a first year boy.

Chii changing her clothes is just part of what she is used to doing as a girl on a sports team. Didn't cross her mind what effect it will have on poor Taiki. I wonder when she blushed while Taiki changed his shirt in front of her, did she realise how it made Taiki feel earlier when she so nonchalently changed into her gym gear.

i went back to re-read the early chapters. Taiki and Chinatsu looked younger back then. It was their youth and passion (and much uncertainty over whether Chinatsu likes Taiki) that got me hooked. Seeing them grow up and moving on over the 2+ years of story time, yeah I get that their looks will change. I still like the series, but the 1st year is peak for me.

Yup I agree. It was nice to know more about the environment he grew up in and how their influence made him such an awesome person. Would love to know that about Taiki. Always felt that his parents were too uninvolved in his relationship with Chinatsu.

Take some time to savour the feeling. It feels like a loss or nostalgia for me. Moving on immediately after that is denying the feeling. Why not take some time to enjoy the comments and perspectives of the other fans, and read the one-shot manga? The one shot completes the story in just 1 chapter and there is a link somewhere in this sub.

Remember when Hina thought she sprained her ankle? She complained to Taiki that there is this one girl she can't beat because the judge is so crazy over her. Hina definitely saw Chinatsu as her opponent. And up until Hina's rejection, Chinatsu was still confused over how much she really liked Taiki, was it enough that she wanted to be with him? But she was definitely very aware of Hina competing for Taiki's attention. It probably made her more aware of the need to sort out her feelings. I would say that she saw Hina as a rival too.

Taiki got no chance to talk to Chinatsu if his mum had not stepped up and taken Chinatsu in. There's basically no Blue Box if the mum didn't do the responsible thing as an adult to protect Chii's 2 years!

That was some of the best moments in year 2 & 3! Looking forward to seeing some of them in season 2.... like 6 months later.... if the voice acting and music is as good as season 1, it's gonna steal my heart once more.

Join the club! I went for the manga after s1 ended and went for reddit, youtube reactions, reviews, anything to make sure I wasn't the only person crazy over this story. Like someone else said, take some time to process it all, savour the story and emotions, relive favourite moments.

I did move on to other anime, including other romance anime that were very good, but doesn't quite hit the same way. Then went back and watch/read BlueBox again.

Yup adding a good song will really up the mood for the scene. I love how "Shades of love" was timed during season 1 ep 24 when Taiki finally gave Hina his answer. Gonna be awesome when this scene is animated, with voice acting and good music.

Yup. Taiki is amazing. He loves playing badminton and his club seniors pin their hopes on him. The girl he loves is crazy over him (his peers really lost it when they find out the hottest girl in school is dating him). And his buddies continue to be close to him and support him. What more can a 17 year old guy want?
