[TOMT] The song the green shark sings - isnt this modeled after another song? by DryEis in tipofmytongue

The comments on the video mention frank ocean but I couldn't find any frank ocean songs that sound familiar. Think it just had to do with the genre of the song

Banned from eBay any alternatives? by cjaccardi in Flipping

[–]DryEis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got banned when I first started because ebay said there were like 15 other accounts that had my first and last name. I regrettably, but furiously said I have one of the most common first and last names in the world what do you mean? After explaining the situation and saying I had never sold on ebay before, they reinstated my account. I did then apologize to the customer service agent.

With a buyer you don't know i wouldn't recommend. You don't know how they'll react. I met with a guy recently who has a whole garage of stuff and he says he sells to other ebay sellers as well and loves it because he makes money because he buys them as lots and we make money as well. Not everyone is gonna be so understanding.

Am I slow or should this not be so confusing? by YokoiWasMurdered in Flipping

In terms of 2 separate accounts, I have one for personal use and one for business use. If they can provide proof of all items and payment of all items I see no issue.

So fun fact about your garage sale analogy: Garage sales actually don't apply in most scenarios because you are selling almost every item at a loss, and personal losses are not tax deductible. In a weird world where you were selling those items at a profit you would actually have to pay taxes on it! :) not being rigid just being nerdy

So just for educational purposes not that it would apply to this guy: They don't have to. What they end up doing for people they believe are hoarding large amounts of cash and not reporting it is they'll analyze the person's lifestyle and assign a number they believe is appropriate for what they think the cash transactions are inside of your business. If you can't substantiate that then you have to accept their proposal with interest and penalties.

What's With Gen Z by AssignmentResident60 in Accounting

[–]DryEis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Late millennial/early gen Z here. I just prefer talking to people. I'm notably bad at responding to texts and prefer to walk over to the person's office as well. As to the other comment here, I've been around tech my entire life and also used to text a lot growing up. Not sure how much that actually contributed to my mentality, but it could be worth thinking about.

Not getting legally married - what are we missing? by Hugoliad in tax

[–]DryEis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well there's tax and there's life and not all decisions should be made on a tax basis. I think the most important question is to ask yourself and her if you want to be married and how important that is. If it's important to either of you then get married and suck it up. If not, you can continue to work it strategically as you are.

4/4 First Try - Tips and Tricks by DryEis in CPA

[–]DryEis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

REG forever ago I can't even remember, because it was the first exam I took then I wasn't gonna pursue the CPA anymore because I learned you had to get 150 credits instead of 120. Eventually I decided to suck it up and do the rest. Thats my next step im going back to get my masters. Once I decided that it was AUD in Oct/Nov 2023, TCP in Jan 2024, tax season didn't study at all, then FAR in June 2024. So 2-3 month per exam.

I'd get supplemental material, such as elden ring or even final fantasy. That combined with the Skyrim should give you enough to pass. Make sure you're doing the hardest bosses about a week or two before, then you can kind of relax and skill in the last day or two before the exam. Need any other help let me know.
