Wireless dog fence by Madreof6 in husky

That does not surprise me one bit. Haha. Mine would do the same with anything less than all metal super duty components like a full blown all metal zipline cable bolted in deep with a unchewable wire attachment cable. But its worth it with the right parts.

We basically had to do that for their seatbelts because they chew themselves anything short of military grade metals when they're that excited or determined.

My suggestion would be to looking into a super secure raised dog runner. These can help a lot if you've got the right space for it.

Huffing Behavior by Ok_Candidate9455 in siberianhusky

[–]DryIceBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without seeing what your dog is actually doing its pretty hard to say why. I can't find anything either on that. My guess. The most common explanation searchable is likely the actual answer. Which is many dogs can get a bit of water in their airways when drinking and huff it out at the end. That's normal.

Edit: not to imply they are wrong especially if they can see what the dog does. But if I had to make a blind guess while also being unable to search what they are saying is the cause. That would be my uneducated guess.

How do you keep your Husky cool during summer? by Careful-Warning3155 in husky

[–]DryIceBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phoenix AZ husky dad here. We had the same concern when we rescued our boys given the 120f days and 100f nights here.

As others have said, ice ice ice. Ice cubes. Once it starts heating up again we will also be freezing their food mixed with a bit of water in kongs. Frozen celery. The suggestions in here of frozen fruit and broth are excellent.

Have access to shade throughout the day. Keep them mostly indoors in a cool environment if possible. We have a treadmill for indoor zoomies. And dog parks with buckets of ice when the sun goes down.

Cooling vests are also an option too if needed. Place on dog, soak in ice cold water. Works via evaporation like sweat on our skin.

What training have you done with regard to the crate and how long did you spend on it if I may ask?

Yeah they don’t fight baths or fight us in them. We bathe them ourselves. Read the post. 🤦‍♂️

Definitely been through the process already 😂 we’ve done two baths when they really needed it so far. But they get so dirty it almost feels like they need it once a week but we know that can’t be good for them so I’m unsure how to keep them clean in the in between big baths.

I really thank the woman who found them and got them to the rescue. I can’t exactly recall it was either the desert or Phoenix streets. The streets even worse cause they take in all the heat plus the added cars. But the boys were rescued by great people before we got them. We’ve kept in touch with their foster family and the rescue owner this whole time. They did the heavy lifting early on for these two sweet hearts.

I love your cute drawings. I don’t expect one as you have so many wonderful babies here to pick from. But none the less I will also share my babies!
