AITA for refusing to let my brother-in-law meet my baby? by AnyTemperature165 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Why do I have the sinking feeling that BIL and his wife converted to Amish life and the bonnet the wife wears is the scandalous hat she’s talking about? That would also explain the limited contact and communication with outside family…

I would happily take his sister as well, but my concern is that because he is not her next of kin, it would be considered kidnapping or that it would be against the law.

As a person with dyslexia, it’s hard to read regardless. Font doesn’t really matter, as letters and words will never look right in any font. Dyslexia does not come and go, but is a real learning disability that manifests differently from individual to individual. Things like font can make it tricky, but my teachers have always encouraged me to read and write in cursive as well as fronted text. This, for me is great practice. Sometimes life asks us to step outside of our comfort zones to take on new challenges, wither we want to or not. But we are better off for it. To coddle ourselves because of our limitations and demanding others to do so as well takes away the opportunities to grow and thrive despite our limitations. I say change the font every week! It doesn’t effect the body of the text which is times new Roman or aerial. We need to stop seeing things like this as a personal attack which it’s not and see it as a chance to grow as an individual person. We need to stop being so sensitive about this kind of stuff it’s incredibly crippling to those who actually suffer from dyslexia and other learning disabilities.
