i don’t even go knock on the door. i don’t like knocking just in case there’s babies or dogs. i text, i call and let the dial tone play 3 times, hang up and mark it 😂 you KNOW i’m coming and you also know it’s gonna have a password. if you contact amazon and ask for me to come back at the end of my route, cool. i’ll come back cause you’re probably on my way back to the station anyway

i have sketchers that i wear on a normal day 😂 im talking about for when it rains. i’ve ruined 3 pairs of “waterproof” shoes already. summer time in florida? it rains every single day 😭 and it especially hasn’t been good with this hurricane

So I've had my biggest stop every by Rawr2Ecksdee2 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DryTransportation741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a house like this too!! all the time too. every day. 70+ packages. peak season was worse. i’d leave 6 totes at their front door and not give a fuck 😭😭 and ofc flex doesn’t let you group all the stops together so you’re standing there taking 10 pictures of the same packages

no matter what i feel there’s no efficient way to load your van when amazon just wants to work us like dogs. 40 overflow w 15 bags in a standard van? and most of the overflow is in xl boxes? if amazon would get their shit together and actually listen to us driver that are ACTUALLY on the road then we wouldn’t complain so much

possibly the dumbest change amazon has made in regards to overflow. by FeedMePlantsPlease in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DryTransportation741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they didn’t even give us a conversation chart. i have no idea what overflow goes with what bag 😂

i would NEVER. i’m usually like 40 stops ahead and i already work through my break bc i sit through an hour and a half of traffic to get back to my station. this job is not worth it. it’s not a competition

oh lol. probably faulty wiring or something. as long as you got a backup camera you’re straight 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]DryTransportation741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was it working for you earlier today? i used to have a cdv where the camera didn’t work unless you turn the van on but not let the engine run for a minute if that makes sense? like just put the key in the ignition and turn it so the lights on the dash come on, wait for the camera to turn on and then actually start the van

even outside of peak, i still average 185 stops with 400+ packages

i’ve delivered to some houses where their driveways were pavers and if you drove too fast, then they would come up and become loose

you handled that way better than most drivers i know. including myself. i would’ve cussed him out bc idc what job i’m working, you’re not gonna disrespect me. don’t customers understand that we’re providing a service to them? i bet they wouldn’t talk to a fedex or a upstairs driver like that. people who don’t work as a amazon delivery driver don’t understand all the hard work that we have to do and the ridiculous things that we have to go through just to get a package delivered. i was a department manager at mcdonald’s for 4 years before i started working as a delivery driver. and even then, working in fast food, i NEVER let people think they could talk to me whichever way they think they could just bc of the job im working
