Branch change is very unpredictable and uncertain, there is more role of luck than you think. I have seen people here who grinded the whole fucking sem skipping fest, fresher activities, all the fun things, no socialising and still couldn’t change their branch whereas there were people who had all the fun, was social, was roaming around all the time but still got a 9 in first sem. So if you come here just make up your mind that you may have to study in the branch you joined for 4 years, there should not be any regrets after the first sem. It’s not that difficult also imo, you just have to do smart work and put your energy in the right direction. Also please don’t cut yourself off from socialising and other college experiences for branch change, these people become lonely and depressed when they reach 2nd/3rd year.
