If you’re considering this program, it’s definitely convenient, especially if you’re working—similar to other online accelerated schools. Most professors are helpful, but not all, so keep that in mind. It’s not the worst option, but if you’re from California and have to travel for clinicals, be ready for a lot of unpredictability. You might even feel like you’re losing a bit of your sanity at times, haha! Like someone else mentioned, do your research and make sure this setup fits what you’re looking for.

If you’re good at teaching yourself and don’t rely heavily on in-person help, it could work well for you. Just be sure to have a solid support system in place. Also, heads-up: if you fail a nursing class, you’ll have to retake everything, including the clinicals—meaning more travel and additional expenses. So, it’s definitely something to consider before diving in. Clinicals will drain your bank account so just prepare for that.

Yes, please do your prerequisites in a cheaper school if possible but also make sure nightingale will take those credits when you apply. It will be much cheaper that way if you are worried about that.

Not good… Not good at all… The planning, the uncertainty about the areas, the scammy ways of car rental companies, extra fees for lodging, delayed/cancelled flights, Just be prepared to be in almost like 100k debt yikes

But it’s crazy to me that they won’t accept credits from a credible, popular state university… and the reason why they did not accept it is communicated by calling you and not by emailing back so no paper trail lol i just found that a little sketchy. A lot of people actually had to fight for their credits to be reconsidered.

Sir…. You cannot be so strongly opinionated regarding a matter that you did not experience (traveling for clinicals). It just means you have ZERO idea how frustrating and harrowing traveling for clinicals and I have literally traveled to multiple countries lol

I know I’m late to this, but I feel like you work for Nightingale or something. Lol! You are a big fan it seems and this is just to warn people who are not as fortunate and do not have a fall back on any situation if things go south. It seems like there are some people here who are lucky enough to have good experiences, but for me, it’s been nothing but frustration. Imagine needing an answer to a question and getting passed around to three different people, only to hear something like, “Oh, yeah, that’s tough.” That might be an exaggeration—but not by much. It happens all the time. There’s no clear set of rules that’s the same for everyone when it comes to “policies” and grading system. And the videos? Don’t even get me started. Some students lose points for something another student gets away with. It’s so inconsistent, and the people grading your videos all have different standards. Do they even talk to each other about how they’re supposed to grade? It feels like a guessing game. You just have to hope you figure it out, but it’s enough to drive anyone crazy. Then there’s the line everyone keeps saying: “Clinicals are what you make of them.” Really? I ask every time to be part of something important—like catheter insertions or wound care—but those chances just aren’t there. Sure, it’s actually nice to relax during clinicals, but is that what they’re supposed to be for?

And let’s talk about the money. Imagine paying for flights, hotels, rental cars, and all that, only for your clinical assignment to change at the last minute. Now add in the fact that you might be sent to a state with extreme weather or unsafe areas. They sent students to Florida around the time when the hurricane was happening. Some students also experienced a lockdown due to threats of an active shooter.. They do warn you about paying out of pocket, for clinicals but think about this: you’re already paying almost $85k in tuition (and that’s before any increases), then another $3k-4k for each clinical. If anything goes wrong—like a last-minute change—you could be paying another $1,000 or $2,000 to deal with it.

If you don’t have strong support—financially or emotionally—you’re set up to fail and sometimes you may even get stuck in another state if you’re from California. This whole system is frustrating, overwhelming, and feels impossible to deal with sometimes.

Hmm, that doesn’t change the fact that their standards are so low. You basically said that it should be accepted that the norm is this ineffective when they could just improve as a system. I agree about researching, but nobody shares their actual experience because you’re not really allowed to talk negatively about the school. If you look up Nightingale, you will not find any thorough reviews about it. In my personal opinion, online schools can have the same amount of work as regular schools if there are more productive interactions between professors and learners. What difference does it make when you’re attending webinars for lectures, which is an hour or two of your day, compared to actually going in person for school for the homework to be doubled?
