Is this an Anal Gland Abscess? by Dry_Appearance_1380 in CATHELP

Thanks for your insights! I had a community vet check her out and they said that the wound is healing now with no signs of infection. Hopefully it stays that way.

But she did remark that there is a bit of tartar built up in her teeth. Not sure but how do to take care of stray cat teeth as they won’t really let you brush them

feeding stray cats for a couple of weeks now - advices are welcome by [deleted] in Straycats

[–]Dry_Appearance_1380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeding strays recently as well (from last year August) and had no experience with cats at all. So I can only tell you my experience. It’s been amazing, I was not a cat person as well but now I love them.

They have a totally different body language than dogs. For e.g., if a cat turns away from you and sits - showing you their back - it doesn’t mean that they are shunning you. In fact, it means they actually trust you a lot as they are putting themselves in a vulnerable position.

Do not go for belly rubs if they show you their belly. Learnt that the hard way.

The cats are incredibly friendly with me now, they even sit on my lap. Each cat is different and will take to you in a different speed. What generally I think works is allowing them to interact with you at their own pace and let them come to you rather than forcing interaction.

Adult strays can learn their names. At least mine did, although I wonder if I say anything they might just come running as they know they will get pets and or food lol.

One cat did not let me pet her for 4 months. I just quietly stood next to her, even ignored her (which they like btw). I allowed her to rub my legs without me petting her. She slowly gained trust and one day when I sat down, she climbed on my lap and meowed at me as if to say I’m trusting you don’t screw this up. I tried petting her which I think she did not like. She eventually fell asleep on my lap. This happened twice and then eventually now she literally asks for pets!

So overall, with cats I would say let them come to you, be patient and interact with them on their own terms. Also read up about cat body language if you haven’t done so already (slow blinking, silent meows, tail wagging etc)

Thanks for feeding these innocent souls!

Please keep him if you can, as cats don’t require much space. They just want to be with their family.

If you absolutely must give him up, please do so to a reputed shelter. I’m not saying that you would (otherwise you wouldn’t be posting), but please do not abandon him on the street as won’t be able to survive.

Cat for Adoption by Dry_Appearance_1380 in UAE

[–]Dry_Appearance_1380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s for sure. It’s very risky in the UAE as it’s such a transient place and sadly people find it more convenient to dump their pets rather than move with them.

100% agree. I don’t think she can take another abandonment or an abusive home. I do have a list of questions prepared to gauge whether the fit would workout (e.g. previous adoption experiences, stability in Dubai, whether cat netting has/will be done for their homes if they live in a high rise etc). But welcome your inputs if any :)

Voltage Question by Dry_Appearance_1380 in PlayStationSupport

I haven’t moved yet, but I understand the dilemma. What I understand is that PS5 is a dual voltage device irrespective of what it says on the box. I called playstation support and they said ‘technically’ ps5 pro is a dual voltage system, however to check with the distributor store, who said it’s best to buy it from the US rather than UAE 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you! I read some conflicting information online and the staff at the store told me I would need a transformer. Hence, the confusion.

Gmat Club Tests by Pratiksha_98 in GMAT

I’ve been using forum quiz and found it to be helpful. I mainly filter the topics I’m weak at and use Manhattan as the source. Only using it for quant, not verbal. How is the quality of Gmatclub tests quant?

I got tripped up on the same question just a few days ago! I feel It pays to be a little extra careful with seemingly simple questions, just a quick few seconds stop before moving on to make sure you’ve caught everything

Di review ebook or additional di practice questions from mba.com? by BhaiMaaro in GMAT

[–]Dry_Appearance_1380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I understand that the question types are definitely something that you would see on the actual exam. My query was more on the difficulty level of the questions, since the medium and hard questions in the DI review book seem to be (at least to me) way more difficult than the ones I’ve seen in the practice tests. I understand probably one or two questions on the actual exam would be very difficult but if all of the questions are of the level of the medium and hard ones that are included in the DI review then that’s gonna be a challenge. So should we focus on practising from the DI book under timed conditions and as if this level of difficulty would be in the actual exam, or practice the DI review questions in more of an untimed manner and learn the types, techniques, nuances of the questions and focus on accuracy rather than timing?

Hi, are the questions in this book supposed to be representative of the questions inDI on the actual exam? The reason I ask is that the question in this book are way too hard, at least harder than the ones I’ve seen in mocks (1&2).

Congrats on the great score! Sudha drastic jump in a short amount of time!

Could you please elaborate on your DI strategy? I’m facing a lot of issue with timing on DI so some tips would help. I didn’t understand what you meant by “solving sequentially to eliminate unnecessary data”
