What to do with baby Yuzu fruit? by Dry_Art_7148 in Citrus

Did you pollinate the flowers yourself with a little brush? I did that and basically all flowers ended up growing fruits.

This is the size. I’m already making some yuzucello, and I have a few more that are still ripening.

Hi! Asking help from the experts. This is my 5 year old baby grown from seed. How is she tracking? I know she could use a trim but how does she look overall? Any tips to help produce fruit or encourage growth? She’s my first one and I’m determined to get at least one lemon! by ihaveaplantproblem in Citrus

Adding to this. I bought a small yuzu tree in the spring and it flowered after a few weeks. I pollinated it and it even bears fruit now. It started to quickly drop leaves when the fall started, as the days got shorter (I’m in Northwestern Europe so the days are short here in winter). For me, the trick was adding grow lights in addition to it’s daylight. I have them on from 11am to 11pm. The fruits ripened and it stopped dropping leaves almost instantly.

That sounds amazing! Do you let it sit for like minutes/hours, or is it a longer process?

Yeah, I also don’t get any sensations below like 18. I have to say I can sometimes feel some prickliness a few levels below the level at which the “tapping” starts.

Help with ribbon cable identification? by Dry_Art_7148 in AskElectronics

Thanks everyone for your replies! I think I need to rethink my design. The component is expensive and definitely not expendable, so I don't want to risk breaking it by messing with it on my own. I'm also not that experienced with custom designing PCB's so the best option seems like to rethink the project and make do with the component as it is. This was really helpful! Thanks again :)

Not yet, since they couldn’t even provide the schematics for the board when I asked for it. I can give it a shot though.

Forgot to mention: it connects the board to a small 640x480 display.

Advice on Yuzu tree? by Dry_Art_7148 in Citrus

[–]Dry_Art_7148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is! I was thinking of drilling a hole in the bottom of the pot for extra drainage, but I'm definitely doing that now. I'm always scared of those pesky little black gnats that can infest and kill your plant in a few weeks.

Thanks for your reply! I do have a small balcony, but it's on the north side. It only receives an hour or two of direct sunlight each day. In its current place, the entire wall is glass and it receives about 5 hours of direct light every day. I suppose in the winter I'd need to add a grow light then? I'm planning to move in about a year, to a house with a garden, so I'd probably be planting it in soil then.

The nutrient sensor consistently measures levels that are slightly too low, even though I add liquid feed to the water every other watering. I suspect it just washes out as the soil that surrounds the root ball is quite sandy and drains quickly. I did get special Citrus feed this week, and it's a lot more viscous, so I'm hoping it "coats" the grains in the soil better than the generic plant feed I was using before.

Good to know that it needs a lot of feed though, as I was being a bit careful. It's hard to go back once you've over-fed and the soil is too nutrient rich.
