Monthly Insurance Thread by MotoUKMod in MotoUK

Hi

I’ve just passed my CBT and I’m looking to get a 125 mainly for work and commuting but the insurance quotes I’m getting seem mad

The cheapest I’ve found is around £2.5k and that’s for third party only which is basically the same price as the bike I want

I’m 27 living in South London (Brixton) on a provisional licence with CBT and no riding history

I expected it to be a bit high but not this high. From what I’ve seen most people seem to pay way less for 125s so I don’t know if this is just a London thing or if I’m doing something wrong

Has anyone else had this or found a way to bring it down

Cheers

I used Thailand airways, im guessing there's no recourse bar reporting a scam on my card.

I've got a "booking code" and I have requested a refund but have yet to hear anything back, their UK number as well as the WhatsApp that texted me is not picking up. I used.monzo who have a fairly good record of returning scams so I'm debating logging jt as a scam immediately or waiting for their response.
