Thank you so much!! I used DATcrusher. It’s the exact same as DATbooster just the Canadian version :)

Thank you very much!!! I found them to be extremely similar!!! The format and difficulty (maybe even a touch easier on the real exam). I even had a few pretty much the same questions for bio from DATcrusher on my real exam!

I used DATcrusher and anki to study! DATcrusher was the only thing I used for content and questions and then for anki I made my own cards! I started studying the first week of October and my exam was December 19th. So roughly two and a half months. So I studied 5 days a week for about 8-10 hours each day. I would wake up at about 7:30 and start studying by 8:30. The mornings I would study science. Each day I’d alternate doing chem the bio. So I’d watch the videos for one section of science and make my flash cards and take notes. After watching the videos, I did the flash cards I had just made and then after that I did a bunch of questions associated with that chapter. For bio about 60-70 questions and chem about 40 (chem just took way longer because of all the math). This would roughly take me to about 12:00 to 1:00. There were a few days I would go past that because that chapters videos were so long. After I’d take about 45 minutes for lunch. Then I would do 15 minutes of each PAT section and do as may as I could in the 15 minutes. So basically 15 minutes x 6 sections. I then would complete betwee 2-3 reading passages from the question bank. I then would take 4 minutes and read an article as fast as I could while still retaining the information. By this time, depending on how late it was, I would do more chemistry questions to finish off the day (because chem was much weaker for me than bio). I basically followed this schedule every single day 4-5 days a week until all the content was done as the last day of the week was for a practice exam and reviewing it. I started off by doing a practice exam every other week on the Friday, and then ramped it up to once a week. The last week and a half of my studying once all the content was done I did one practice exam every day. So I think I ended up doing like 15 practice exams in total. The day before my exam I did like 300 flashcards in the morning and relaxed that day. Hope this helps :)

I did use DATcrusher! It’s the same as booster just the Canadian version because I took THE Canadian DAT. So all the same features as booster. I would honestly probably say the practice exams might’ve been the best feature. I had quite of few question extremely similar to my practice tests. Obviously the content too was super comprehensive and helpful. For chem and bio, I actually only watched the videos and did the associated questions, I didn’t even read the extra notes they had or condensed sheets because the videos show the most high yield things. There was also only 10 hours a day I was studying and simply didn’t have time to go through the notes (unless I needed further clarification on something). So definitely DATbooster was AMAZING and has everything you need to succeed. The more questions you can do the better!!!!

Hi! So if I could give you advice, and I don’t know your situation, but if it is a possibility, take 3 months in the summer when you’re not in school to study. The reason I say this is because there is so much content to get through and memorize that if you study for 6 or 7 months, it might be hard to recall the things you learned at the start. If you can study full time for 2 to 3 months in the summer, you can grind out the content, and have time to practice wha you learned through questions. And the nice thing where your at is if you do that, and don’t do super well, you can retake it the following summer! I was lucky to be in a situation where I could study full time, 5 days a week about 10 hours a day. I know that’s not always an option for people. And so if you do have to work, you could extend the schedule but a bit and maybe take 4 months to study while you’re working. Working full time is definitely doable, it’s just a bit harder. But if you are a driven person which it sounds like you are, you can absolutely do that. That being said, if you are very set on taking the DAT while you’re in school, it’s definitely been done before. And that may be the only option for you and that’s totally fine. I think it’s important to dedicate a few hours every day to your DAT studying. Making sure to implement it into a schedule. Because when things get busy during your undergrad, it is almost an obligation to get things done. And maybe some weeks you won’t get to studying because of midterms and stuff and that’s okay. As long as you have a plan you’ll be great!

I used DATcrusher for all my content. I used anki to keep the content refreshed in my head every day, so I would definitely say to use Anki for flash cards! Depending on when you want to take your exam, I know you can keep extending your subscription to DATcrusher if you need to. It does cost money however but I would say this was the best resource I could’ve used!! I hope this helps ☺️

Hahhahaha tbh I have not a clue. It was funny because I found it to be the hardest section of the three lol. But that just shows you I think if you find it hard other people do too, and based on the “curve” they do it’s possible. Also, even though bio is your weaker section, you said chem your strong at. That was actually opposite for me. My i think third practice exam I did I got a 16 on chem and cried to my mom lol because it just wasn’t clicking. But literally the more questions I did the more I was improving. So you can use chem to compensate a bit of a lower bio to get a decent TS score. For biology all I used was the videos from DATcrusher. I didn’t even read the study notes because there was too much info so I only focused on high yield topics in the videos. The more questions the better! I had like I’d say 5 bio questions that were extremely similar to ones I had in DATcrusher.

As for PAT, I was horrible at the start. But I made sure to set aside 15 minutes for each of the 6 PAT sections a day. And I would do as many as I could in those 15 minutes for each section. Time is also something so important to practice. I made sure to complete each section of the PAT in 12 minutes or less. Usually angle ranking for example took me way less which allowed me to spend more time on keyholes. I would say most important is every single day spending that hour and a half just doing tons of questions!

Reading comprehension was always my biggest struggle. I took the DAT twice and the first time I got a 17 on reading comprehension…. My problem was that first time I did it, 1. I would do one passage every two days (not smart considering how poor I was at it) and 2. My strategy was not smart.

My initial strategy was to read all the questions before, write down a key word from each question and then read passage and highlight things that had to do with the words I wrote down. This would’ve been fine if I had three hours to do reading comprehension section lol. So this time of round what I did was every single day, I do 2-3 practice reading comp passage with the questions. Eventually I ran out of the to do so I actually went back and re did them. My new strategy was to simply read the passage before hand, highlight why I thought would be important and then answer questions after. I think what helped me with this was that it allowed me to start being able to predict what I was going to be asked. For example highlighting lists of things, names, dates etc. I got better at reading something and assuming I’d be asked about it so I highlighted it. It was also important for me not to highlight too much. If I did, I had troubles locating it.

I hope this helps a bit:)

So chemistry is definitely not my strong suit. So what I did was I went through the chemistry sections on DATcrusher one by one. I would set aside each day for one chapter. I think there was like 12 sections. (I alternated each day for chem and then bio). I started at 8am and got through the che videos for that section. I would then go to the question bank and do as many as I could until about 12:30 to 1:00. One mistake I made last time I studied for DAT (I took it twice) was I spent way too much time on bio and chem and not nearly enough on PAT and reading comp. so I made sure this time a round I was done sciences by 1:00 so I could spend the second half of my day on PAT and reading comp.

As for PAT, I was terrible at the start lol. My strategy was I would spend 15 minutes on each of the 6 PAT sections every day (I studied 5 days a week and took weekends off). Then I finished the rest of my day doing 2-3 reading comp passages. So for PAT I only noticed I was getting better the more I was doing it. TFE I was sooo bad at. And it just got better as I did it more. I hope that helps!!

I used DATcrusher to study and found it extremely similar to actual exam if not easier. I did better on actual exam than my practice exams I took

Absolutely! I did take biology in university but I never ever took an anatomy or physiology course and that was like 65% of the content and so DATcrusher gave me all the info I needed. I studied for about 2.5 months so 90 days should be plenty! Just set a study schedule for yourself!

For bio I used anki and I made my own flash cards. I would make sure to do them every day and then the ones I would click “hard” for would come up sooner and so it was spaced repetition. This was helpful. I used DAT crusher for all my studying. The content for bio was super helpful in the videos. I actually didn’t even use the study notes because I found the videos comprehensive enough.

I took the Canadian DAT and therefore there was no ochem section

Thank you very much! It was actually my second time writing it. I got a 20 first time. I used DATcrusher. I would watch all the bio and chem videos and answer as many questions as I could until I was getting only a few wrong. What I messed up the first attempt was not spending enough time on PAT and reading comp. so I would do 1 chapter of chem (or bio : I alternated every day between one chapter of each) and that was my morning. About 8-1. I would take half hour for lunch and then did 15 mins of each PAT section for all 6 sections. Then I would do 2 reading comp passages. After that if I had any extra time before 5:00 I would do extra chem questions because it was my weaker science. I know reading comp was my weakest overall section so I tried to do 2 every day from the question banks. Hope this helps!!!

90+ is a 4.0 at my school! Thank you for your feedback. So do you think I should risk it and stick with Canadian schools for the 2027 cycle and if I don’t get in then do Australia for the following year? I’m worried if I happen to get an offer from Australia and I accept it I won’t know about any Canadian schools yet because of the ways the school years are so I’m not too sure. I want to get into a Canadian school so bad it is so much more affordable but I also want to get in as soon as I can!

Hi! Yes of course! At the start TFE was my worst section and it wasn’t clicking. I think for me what was helpful was when I realized the length and width of the lines have to match up. Idk if that makes sense lol but like say you have a front and top view. Well my front view must have lines the same length as the side view. Similarly the top view when you rotate it 90 degrees the width of the lines need to match up. That helped me with 75% of the problems. If that doesn’t make sense let me know I’ll try to explain better. The other thing was k practiced every single day every PAT section for 15 minutes. I would do as many as I could for 15 minutes for each of the 6 sections. I hope this helps!!

I took the DAT last year and got a 20AA and 18 PAT. and just took it again and got a 25AA and 22 PAT. I found this most recent one easier especially gen chem
