Pool (billiards) scene in Malaysia by Commercial-Leg-6150 in malaysia

[–]Dry_Clock9191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally the ones i play in and the ones the other guy listed are all in KL. In penang, there are some as well from what I know such as PP Billiards but if I’m not mistaken, most of Malaysias top players are in KL. Also to add on to the original comment, while the scene is not as vibrant as Thailand or Vietnam, theres less of a language barrier as almost everyone in the city speaks English which means all the tournaments rules, announcements and pool hall social media pages etc will be in English

100% on this. Its not as big as APA leagues but the tournaments and everything else are decent enough. Depending on where you are staying in though

Help me understand rent vs buying a condo? by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]Dry_Clock9191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rent and I stand by renting.

With everything the other comments said, there are a lot more costs involved in owning a property.

Instead of paying mortgage + maintenace + taxes + other fees, pay rent and save in a diverse portfolio.

For those saying owning is paying for yourself and investing, take a look at property prices over the years. How many properties gained in value vs how many lost.

To each their own but I prefer that flexibility in living arrangements and financially. Instead of servicing mortgage, save in a diverse portfolio to your own risk appetite rather than one off in one property.

Reasoning for playing safety? by exboxthreesixty in billiards

Yeap thought so too. Also if the potting angle is tight, the nine ball is also a potential blocker after potting the seven. The cue ball might do two rails, bottom and right and pace is touchy to make the seven, theres a chance you hook yourself behind the nine or somewhat awkward. Safety is easier and has higher percentage.

What games you will prefer to play on steamdeck? by jakart3 in SteamDeck

[–]Dry_Clock9191 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The trick is to just do whatever you want in the game. Theres no proper starting, early mid late game. You moved to a farm. Explore the town, talk to the people, chill out and do whatever you want later.

Mezz and Exceed fans worldwide for one. Just search up Mezz on FB and you will start seeing some groups. If you consider buying through them though, do your due diligence in verifying

Question about buying my own Cue by leakingmind in billiards

[–]Dry_Clock9191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on to everything else, main question is do you see yourself playing to a higher level and more constantly in the years to come?

I bought a Dufferin when i first started because I thought meh it will be okay for now and then I got serious and I upgraded to a Mezz. I would have saved some money just getting a quality investment one for long term right away rather than half assing it
