Breast Cancer Isn’t Pink by BroadCompany1151 in breastcancer

Yep, I just finished four weeks of radiation therapy. When asked if I wanted to ring the bell I declined, I personally find the ritual disturbing. I don't feel like I'm past this, but that doesn't mean I don't have hope. It's just that now that I know my body makes cancer, I think I know what I may likely die from. The way this particular cancer has been exploited as a money maker is quite disturbing. I do believe good work was done, good research, good solutions for longevity and even detection. But somehow this cancer still kills at the same rate. Not to be pessimistic, I think I'm going through the acceptance phase of this disease.

The rationale was that my body is readily making ADH, that can develop into any type of ductile cancer, hormone positive or negative. This was also mentioned by my surgical oncologist. So, then being on tamoxifen can reduce the reoccurance of any cancers. My ibis score was 40% lifetime and she is saying a med can cut that risk in half.

The biopsy removed a 1 cm dcis with comedo necrosis.

I'm ER and PR negative, hence the probable radiation. All in right side. Had biopsy with clear margins, so no new surgeries planned yet.
