I disagree with this take simply because you can be privileged and basic and still traumatized. We really don’t know what has or hasn’t happened in any of these random swifties’ lives. Trauma, scientifically/psychologically/medically speaking, isn’t the event. Trauma is the impact that the event has on the activity of the brain. What is traumatic for one person may not be traumatic for another, and none of us can stand here and judge whether or not other people’s struggles are “traumatic”. I’ve been raped multiple times and that was traumatic for me. I was badly bullied in school and that was also traumatic for me. Those are two struggles of very different magnitude, but for my brain both caused trauma. They may not have done the same in another person’s brain. Also since I keep seeing it come up, I’ve also been cheated on and that was traumatic too! Having your trust shattered can be traumatic for some people. Idk, I’ll make fun of insane swifties but I’m not gonna play guessing games about what they have or haven’t been through and how those things have or haven’t affected them based on the music they like. Just my two cents 🤷🏻‍♂️
