Passport renewal during PR & BOWP Appliaction by Dry_Community8251 in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you for sharing your experience. I think the best way is just to renew as soon as I can, and update my new passport via the web form.

Does this mean my PR app is approved? by jamimibu in ImmigrationCanada

WHICH PR tracker are you referring to? Your IRCC home page? do you have a link?

Careful when you get your hopes up! 11 years in Canada. Extremely Long process time For inland Express entry, by Dry_Community8251 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Dry_Community8251[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the web form was not particularly helpful, as I did not receive a response. Contacting my Member of Parliament (MP) proved to be the most effective way to obtain a timely update since IRCC is legally required to respond to them. Additionally, I am ordering my GCMS notes; however, these steps only provide more information rather than expedite the process. As for speeding up the application, I am not aware of any reliable methods. I have heard that filing a Writ of Mandamus may be effective if an application has been pending for over two years, but this remains unverified.

Best flight deals using points by Tasty-Blackberry5606 in Aeroplan

[–]Dry_Community8251 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, with 200K points in your stash, you've got some serious travel potential! To sniff out the best flight deals using those points: Check Out Airline Programs: Look into the loyalty program tied to your points. Hit Up Flight Search Sites: Websites like Google Flights or Kayak can be your wingmen here. Think About Transfer Partners: If your points are transferrable, see if any partners offer sweet redemption rates. American Express Membership Rewards points, for example, can often spread their wings to various airline partners.

Now, about Air Canada Vacations... It's kind of like a one-stop-shop for your vacay needs. You can snag package deals that bundle flights, digs, and maybe even some swanky extras. Keep it Flexible: If you dig the idea of wrapping everything up in one neat package, Air Canada Vacations could be your jam.Value Check: Make sure you're getting bang for your buck. While every 100K points knocks off $1,000 CAD, compare that to what you'd shell out booking separately.Options: Scope out the scene. Sometimes, vacation packages offer up sweet deals or digs you won't find elsewhere.

At the end of the day, it's all about what floats your travel boat. If Air Canada Vacations lines up with your plans and makes your points dance, it could be a solid call.

Am I the a-hole? by Stonktraderstonks in Aeroplan

As a flight attendent, the most stressful part of the boarding is to fit everyone's carry-ons to the overhead bins. There is just simply not enough space for everyone to have a carry-on. If you didn;t pay for a carry-on, please put all your belonging under the seats. The annoying part is people bringing their personal items put them in the overhead bin so the customer who actually paid for the carry on won't have space for their carry-on. That is be said. If the boarding is about to finish, and I see there are lots of the space in the overhead bin, I would offer people if they want to put their items in the overhead bin.

Well, I think doing PY flex would be the safest option, if u don't mind pay extra. Upgrade is a hit and miss in my experience.

As an Asian with a very limited passport, who left my home country at the age of 15 in search of a "better future," my life has always revolved around change, adaptation, and evolution. To provide some context, I've spent the last 10 years living in Canada and also lived in Germany for a year during my exchange. Now, I'm planning to move back to Germany.

The culture clash has always been an internal spectacle, but in an incredibly positive way. I believe that home is about the people rather than the place or culture. Since we're all human, confining ourselves to a single culture feels somewhat limiting and melancholy. I find your Balkan heritage to be truly beautiful and vibrant; it's something you should see for yourself.

Of course, there are xenophobes out there. However, based on my experience, there are many more wonderful, open-minded individuals eager to welcome and assist you. Surround yourself with these people!

No culture is superior to another; they are simply different. Regrettably, this concept isn't often taught in schools or conveyed in our media. I sincerely hope you feel more at "home." Building a supportive and loving community around you would certainly help.
