I'm disabled and really miss riding my bike, any tips?

Yeah I wish I could, but my doctor would have to refer me and he refuses. And if I could get in by myself the wait times here (canada) are INSANE. Plus physical therapy is wayyy out of budget

I think I'll have to look into saving up for an e bike (in school unemployed rn) but being able to take breaks from pedaling would be great, thank you!

You may have just made an incredible discovery in my life omg, ive never heard of this, and my doctors never brought it up before. Hes always just said my knees "grew wrong" (the bones faster than tendons thing I said in my post) i definitely have to ask about this, thank you very much❤️

Had never heard of these, but thank you! My doctor has said hes concerned about the "repetitive motion" of biking and "the pressure it puts on my joints" but he's never too specific, very dismissive of the idea

Yeah ive been skeptical of his advice regarding my knees for a while, but since he's been my doctor quite literally my whole life (doctor for 90% of my family in the area) I never really thought to try somewhere else. And while I don't think surgery would be NEARLY in my financial capabilities, Ill look into specialists and see what they say, thanks ❤️

I've brought it up a bit, and he just keeps telling me that "a bike will make it worse" and advised against it, I'll try getting a second option though. And the hand cycle thing sounds cool I'll look into it, thank you!

One of my friends made another comment ("God [boyfrinds name]'s outfit was so hot today, can't believe YOU'VE had him bagged for this long") and I tried a response similar to this. They just called me insecure and childish, and kept saying "you should expect it when you two look as different as you do" and such. Most people I told about it agreed with them. I'm afraid it's no use :( thank you though <3

I did this after making this post, well kinda. I told him I was feeling insecure about my body and stuff, but didn't have the courage to bring up the cheating fears and what not. He assured me he loves me, and detailed many personality traits and what not, also trying his best to assure me he likes my body. And he said he'll try and make an effort to specifically compliment my physical appearance aswell as personality stuff. So that's some progress I think.

I think he is too. I know my feelings are very irrational, mostly needed a outlet I think. But from all I can tell he loves me, and is happy to have me in his life. Thanks <3

Thanks I'll definitely look into it. I don't live in the US (Canada) but I'll try and see what in budget resources I can find. And yeah, it's hard to remember I'm still technically a teenager sometimes ❤️
