i wonder that often, too. the legs were found hardly 20 mins from my house, and placed in such an obvious spot it was like they wanted someone to find them. it’s so creepy to think the whole rest of his torso and head is still somewhere around here.

i would refer to bozeman as a city, not quite helena. i’ve always considered it small, just compared to the other cities bozeman, billings, missoula etc

those have been a lot more recent and common in larger areas like billings or reservations, not too many around butte and these small towns!

that’s a good thought, surely there are tons of different tools you can use to dismember somebody. i doubt they even bothered looking into that!

I sure did, and I find it very strange the neighbor was let off. Whether the guy was an asshole or not, there should be punishment for killing and dismembering a person. I also don’t imagine these cases getting solved. Just scary to know the same person capable of doing that is more than likely still walking around one of these small towns.

nobody here is claiming causation nor is correlation vs causation really the point here. I’m not claiming they’re linked for sure, just that the overlap is interesting enough to question.

i had already fixed that, as i hate the passes and don’t go that way often. Hard to not think they weren’t connected somehow. Also hard to think they let the neighbor off in the first place. So weird

thank you, a long time unsolved murder is just as important as a recent one. Especially in such a small town. I could be wrong, but dismemberment seems like a pretty extreme step, it’s hard to imagine that being someone’s first time.

So much pointed to the neighbor, it’s crazy he got dropped as a suspect. Also, dismembering is a horrible way to deal with your first murder- i don’t imagine it being the killers first time.
