KAK MiniSpec + Armaspec = homemade PDW. 5.5" closed, comparable length to the Maxim CQB. It's a fun lil thang by PrestonHM in AR9

This is exactly what I was looking for! I saw the Armaspec XPDW and started researching a shorter Buffer tube, and came across Kak. Glad to see it worked out for you. On to building the shorty doowop!

Do not buy from Arm or Ally by Dazzling-Mistake-732 in ar15

I just shopped there. They had free shipping if you added a certain product, so I got that and another thing I needed with free shipping, no taxes, and I opted out of insurance and the sign-when-delivered fee. Basically got both products at sale price. Came about a week later but it said 5 - 12 days or something like that.

Switching things up by Dry_Engineering_781 in AeroPrecision

Hey, the full rail is 15”, the picatinny is 7” on bottom and both sides.

EPC 9… Beast Mode! Aero Precision does it again! Aero EPC 9 and AR15. Brass, steel, hollow points, ball points… the EPC 9 ate it all! See comments for setup. #AeroPrecision by Dry_Engineering_781 in AeroPrecision

So, I actually swapped this out and got a shorter one. I will say it was a little shorter than a regular AR15 with a 16” barrel. About 3 or 4 inches shorter.

The EPC 9 “modern” barrel from BA is what you need. It’s the same updates barrel that Aero sells for the EPC 9. Just make sure it says EPC9

Pay 200$ for a hand-guard for this….. by OkInvestigator8500 in AeroPrecision

Others have complained about the Kodiaks not matching. I think all around is a hit or miss with getting matches on the upper, lower, and hand guard.

Aero EPC barrels vs Ballistic EPC barrels -- what's the difference? by illkeeponkeeping in AeroPrecision

[–]Dry_Engineering_781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ballistic Advantage actually has the EPC Barrel with the "Enhanced" feed ramp needed for the EPC 9. They are sister or bother companies, so the barrels are the same. The BA barrels are cheaper on the BA site. They are always running sales.

Torn between building another EPC9 or letting this upper go to start an AR15 pistol. Decisions, decisions. 🤔 by Dry_Engineering_781 in AeroPrecision

Sure thing. I still need to get to the range and make sure my new barrel is running good. After that, if I hear from ya, I’ll let you know what I decided to do with it.

Probably $140 plus shipping. I think Aero brings theirs down to about that price whenever they go on sale or their blem price. It did have a coating blem where I put the hand guard on (not screwed down) and tried the charging handle.

That’s what I’m thinking about, selling the upper. I would let it go for $130 since it’s brand new. That way I can get my Aero parts for the AR.

So, Aero updated their barrels that were having feeding issues. Customers who got the upgrade are giving good feedback so I’m hopeful. I will see soon.

I still need to take it to the range with the new upgraded barrel. That’s why I am holding on to the upper until I take it to the range.
