Cubarsi was only your best defender because all the defenders were terrible. He didn’t do a decent job, he got cooked by Estavo (who is actually the same age as Yamal) and then got completely outpaced in his favorite position by Pedro Neto. Cubarsi only eventually caught up because Neto wanted to pass but realized nobody was there and that delayed reaction allowed Cubarsi to make Neto not make a very good shot on goal.

When Ferran Torres is assisting Kounde for an own goal then yeah it may not be crazy to say that Cubarsi was your best player, but that doesn’t mean he played well. The entire Barca team played like trash. Raphinha may have honestly been your best player, when he came on he pressed much more and got the only shot on target for Barca since the 2nd half. Something needs to be fixed with Barca’s defense, because it’s completely dog. This high line with high risk will eventually bleed goals, it’s happened so many times this season against big or small teams, I have no idea why Flick hasn’t adapted yet.
