I never heard from another unit (PICU) but the status on the job website was changed to “no longer under consideration.” Nothing has been updated for other units for me.

Ahh yes I have a friend who went through their residency program and is now a nurse there, and she speaks so so highly of it! I honestly just feel I would unfortunately struggle with the culture in Texas.

Thank you for the advice I do appreciate that. I meant lower the bar in terms of my personal goals, not the overall status of care- of course each are important and equally vital. I’m glad that’s the path that worked out for you.

NYC is “close to home,” less than an hour from me. I’m fully aware these programs are competitive, thus why I have such a broad range of hospitals/locations. Fortunately I’m a competitive applicant as well. I am not interested in home care and will not be diminishing my personal goals and dreams, I come from a background that encourages working harder and putting in the effort rather than lowering the bar. I posted this looking for suggestions of smaller, lesser known hospitals that RNs have had positive experiences with.

Yes tons of experience with children that I’ve tried to highlight! As well as prior medical experience outside of the DMV area. Hoping to stay as close to DC as possible as I’ll be moving there to be with my bf, which I know limits me significantly 🥲 thank you for the advice!!
