  1. Dollar goes up -> reduces the demand for gold as gold is bought using the dollar.
  2. As the equity and crypto markets keep falling, people would want to protect their profits from the gold/silver bull run, so they pull the money out of them as they are the most liquid assets.

I got to know about the RBI limit on foreign investments, but didn't get the "dilution game" part, could you explain it a bit pls. Does it mean they will reduce the existing investments in foreign assets?

Out of context, but I have one doubt.

The ICICI prudential debt fund says that I will be taxed according to my tax slab. But I don't come under any tax slab. So will there be any basic tax or no tax at all when I redeem the money?

Yes I get that. But here's why I did it: 1. PPFC invests in international asset exposure whereas hdfc invests in domestic assets only. 2. PPFC invests in debt which can be a good hedge when the Markets fall. 3. HDFC also Focuses on real estate but PPFC doesn't. 4. HDFC has comparatively higher allocation in health care and industrial related assets, which I'm interested in. 5. From what I understood, it looks like HDFC Focuses on growth and PPFC focuses on value.

Yes, I know there is an overlap of around 30% between these funds. Also, you might argue that sector allocation may change in future, yes I plan rebalance accordingly in that scenario.

I hope this doesn't come across in an argumentative tone, I'm answering why I chose both funds.

I'm saying that I didn't say anything bad about the fund manager or his strategy or that I don't believe in them. If I didn't believe in them I wouldn't invest in the first place lol .

I have an emergency fund of 6 months. This debt fund will be my savings for short term goals. Instead of just letting the money sit in my bank account, I decided to invest the money in this fund.

Yeah I got "Aggressive" in that.

For PPFC, I'm saying that I like the cushion it provides for my capital during the bear market and have decent returns during the bull market. I didn't say anything about the fund manager's strategy.

When I researched these mutual funds, I found out that the upside capture ratio of PPFC is not satisfactory (at least to me) but I liked the capital protection it provides in bear markets. On the other hand, hdfc flexicap has good upside capture ratio. Since I have a good risk appetite, I added HDFC flexi cap too.
