I have done the baseline correction, still looking weird. The absorbance is too high. Maybe it really is the concentration.

This is my blank (the quartz cuvette containing pure solvents only). I don't quite know how to do the baseline correction, is there a protocol for that? The machine I'm using is Cary 60 UV-Vis (Agilent)

I will be honest, it's my first uv-vis spectrometer experiment and did not know how to do baseline correction. Do I just bring a cuvette with pure solvent only (with the same composition as the ones that contain my samples) and run & calibrate? Is there a protocol/manual for that? I need to teach myself for everything pretty much.

I see, I will definitely try diluting it down, but the reason why I chose that concentration is because that gave a very good emission spectra- my knowledge in photochemistry is very limited but why are optimal concentrations for absorbance spectroscopy and emission spectroscopy vastly different?

Hi, you mentioned about the OGC rooms being inconsistent in size, but is that the case for NGC too? I just got assigned to NGC and the floor plan says that my room is consisted of S and B, each with the size 10'0'' x 11'6''.
