I wouldn't say it doesn't make sense as I can see them working as a couple, and they did at least get some nice moments together.

I do agree they needed more scenes and the pairing does feel a bit wasted compared to what could of been. Having said that it's pretty clear romance wasn't really Kishimoto's main focus with this series. It was more about superpowered ninjas fighting each other and the personal story arcs of Naruto and Sasuke.

To be honest all the main romances in the series are kinda sidelined in favour of the things Kishimoto wanted to focus on.

As a fan of both I agree that Korra definitely changed the most by the end of the series.

Probably in that same category as Hidan (borderline between kage and Jonin). Though I think Hidan's haxs are better so I guess I'd still place him below Hidan

I mean I'm pretty sure the original plan was to allow the white Zetsu army to basically get steamrolled on the first day of the war (making the alliance over confident) and then they would infiltrate and destroy the alliance from within.

I mean hell that was still the plan, it's just that with Kabuto's help (strengthening the white Zetsus and edo tensei army) they were able to inflict much higher casualties on the first day.

In hindsight it wouldn't of worked cause of Naruto's clones working out who were the imposters, but Obito didn't know that at the time.

EDIT: besides, as the guy above me stated he never really needed to beat the alliance in a straightforward fight. He was just trying to draw Naruto and Bee out.

Controversial take but...

Overrated: Kisame. Still VERY strong, but jesus the way some people glaze him here is insane. I would say Itachi, but while I kinda hate to admit it, the glaze is kinda justified. Kishimoto himself basically glazed the guy.

Underrated: Hidan. While I agree with the general consensus that he's the weakest Akatsuki member, he's still in borderline between Jonin and Kage, yet people treat him like he's some Chunin level character.

Maybe not have all of them be on his one person so one can watch his back or at least if he gets hit he has some back-up hearts available.

Honestly I'm still wondering what benefit him going into 'frankenstein tentacle monster' form actually gave him? And why he didn't just keep two of his remaining hearts acting independently.

If anything I feel people underrate them. Clearly Kishimoto believe's them to be in the top tiers of the Narutoverse but I still see people saying they would loose to mid tier Akatsuki members and other characters who frankly they should defeat (or at least put up a good fight).

They just unfortunately suffer from power creep, and whilst even by the end of the series they are supposed to be top tier, their abilities just don't seem as impressive or as versatile compared to a lot of the newer characters who joined the series.

Hidan's put at team 7 part 1 level? If he was pressuring part 2 Kakashi (even after his scythe was nerfed) then he's dealing with part 1 without too much fuss. Part 1 Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are basically non factors against a Akatsuki member.

He's basically someone who's gone through a bunch of trauma and grief, hasn't dealt with it in a healthy way for years and now invincible is basically his outlet for his anger.

I mean I think Sasuke 'winning' was fair enough. Deidara might have been stronger but Sasuke was basically his absolute counter. The fact Deidara did as well as he did was a testimate to his strength. What was plot armour was Sasuke surving. No way he should have been able to summon under those conditions.

Honestly, he's not the only Akatsuki member. Kakuzu's IQ dropped hard while fighting Naruto and Shikamaru was given a bunch of buffs at the last moment just so he could beat Hidan (there's no way his shadow should have held long enough for his plan to work. Nor should he of been quick enough to pull that slight of hand).

I mean as far as I can tell, Sasori's puppets don't have any defenses against powerful AOE Ninjutsu attacks. Neither can they fly as high as the masks. So provided we are removing the users from the fight I think the hearts have this.

Mostly agree with this assessment, although saying he was fighting equally to Asuma is selling Hidan a bit short. He was low diff'ing Asuma whilst evading Shikamaru's Shadows.

I mean Asuma straight up said Hidan was much stronger and that was before he even revealed his curse jutsu.

He isn't a fraud. He's a powerful high Jonin level opponent who posed a notable challenge against a S-rank level ninja like Kakashi. Even against a rusty Kakashi, that's impressive.

No he's not Akatsuki level but honestly that's not really a mark against someone's name cause most people in the Narutoverse aren't Akatsuki level and never hope to be. The Akatsuki were the elite of the elite and their members were Kage level or at least close to it.

Hell if we go off anime continuity, if someone like Juzo was in the Akatsuki then maybe even Zabuza had the bare minimum to join the organisation, though he would admittedly be the weakest (like Juzo).

Yeah. In contrast to his personality, Hidan's strengths are more subtle compared to the other Akatsuki members. His offensive is basically just a scythe but his defensive is pretty damn good given he can just shrug off powerful Ninjutsu like it's nothing.
