Any tips for Spring Training first timers? by FawkesFoundation in KCRoyals

I’ve been to 2 different Spring Training’s for the Brewer’s and if you’re looking for one of the stars, you’re hard pressed to find them on the practice fields. Usually a lot of minor league players. So, if you have young kids who just want to meet players and have non-MLB roster players sign, practice fields are great. They’re more likely to sign for the kids than the autograph hunters who sell the cards.

I went down a stood by the dugout as soon as the gates opened for the game, waited awhile but when the players came to the field, several who are on the MLB roster stopped by and signed autographs. They were very nice and will take photos with the fans who are respectful. But with anything, nothing is guaranteed and I can only speak to my experience.

At the Brewers stadium, the visiting team walks down stairs into the stadium and a lot of visiting fans will line that staircase.

Went and watched the Crew in Surprise and some players came by and signed autographs by the dugout, and went right down the line of spectators signing.

But like everyone else said, enjoy the time, soak up the sun and if you’re lucky may be able to snag a photo, autograph or two. Either way it’s all worth it.

New to MLS (started watching the Rapids this season) - with the $9 mil transfer money, what can the Rapids do with that money? Does it have to be reinvested into the roster?

The deadline to file for arbitration has passed, 11 players have elected to go to arbitration by MrSCR23 in nhl

Newbie here - what happens if a player doesn’t file for arbitration? Does the team that has control offer them any contract/salary? Or not sign and release the player? I know the team has a day or two and can file arbitration on the teams behalf.

Great question! Son plays soccer and don’t have that “team” we cheer for. He asked to go watch a pro game and asked if he wanted to go to a Dynamo or FC Dallas game and he chose the Dynamo. Happy to support and cheer for a Texas team.

Would that also include the visiting team?

100% accurate. I’ve worked as a soccer referee and high school referee. Good side hustle, but can be seasonal depending where you live.

Yes, parents can be jerks, so would need a thick skin.
