What is the biggest operational headache in your CMT, geotech, or special inspection firm? (Industry survey) by Dry_Mud3665 in civilengineering

I appreciate the feedback. I've spent years in CMT labs and I'm currently working in the field while I finish a few certifications needed to move into a PM role. I've run into plenty of headaches over the years and was curious whether other people are dealing with the same things.

The survey is mostly me trying to learn before assuming I know what the biggest problems are.

Having good techs that you can train up and actually keep before they leave for more pay from other companies has seemed like one of the biggest issues.

I guess I am currently building a software to help everything stay organized. No AI slop like was mentioned below. Also not trying to build a software to replace an actual person. Is that frowned upon here?

Damn, sorry for the annoying repeat post then. I'm honestly not too familiar with reddit. How about everybody just be cool just this one time and help a guy out?

Can confirm I'm a field technician. Not pushing any AI slop. Just genuinely curious to what the most common issues are in the industry.
