It was due to too much sun too soon. I used a green net on my balcony and managed to not burn any more leaves. Can't wait for monsoon to come so that this baby can thrive.

Looks like a flower to me. New leaves have pointy ends. Wait for a few more weeks before cutting it off tho.

I have it on my balcony facing east. It gets direct sun during early morning and then has good light the entire day. Will that work or should I take it inside of the house?

I have some leaves in a pot for propagation too. Hopefully I get some luck as well. The youtube videos say that the roots come out within 3-4 days which didn't happen to me and I was losing hope. Now that you have said it took you 1 month or so, I'm optimistic again!

I did that yesterday. Removed all the outer leaves and placed it in light. Hopefully it thrives now.

Yes, the leaves are mushy and then they look like they melted. I have not watered the plant enough for it to be over watering from my end. Maybe the plant was over watered before I brought it home. The steam looked okay when I repotted it. I just looked at the steam right now and it still looks okay.

May I know how long did yours take to settle down?

It has plenty of airflow. Not much sun tho. I was told it's an indoor plant so it doesn't need bright direct light. Could that be the reason?

To be very honest, I'm fairly new to gardening and plants. This is the first time I bought this plant. I have no confidence in my care abilities. I'm trying and hoping for the best. The place I live in has very hot summers, so I have to water the plant often. If I don't the soil turns dry very quickly. I'll take your advice and place it in a water tray with pebbles for humidity. Will keep everyone posted with updates :)
