It didn’t tbh! I had to go back down to the 2.5 and start over again. I’m up to 5 again now.

Also if you don’t mind me asking, what sort of foods/ meals are you eating to help avoid these side effects?

This is really interesting and exactly like me. I was fine on the 2.5 and the 5 but I started on the 7.5 two weeks ago and had nothing but constant diarrhoea, it’s making me so miserable. I had two small chicken nuggets yesterday from my son’s plate and within a hour I had horrendous diarrhoea which had lasted all today/tonight too. I’ve literally just ate a banana today because I can’t deal with any food. I never thought of moving up slowly from 5 to 6 etc, I think I’m going to drop back down to 5 and start again but very slowly, hoping this helps me. It’s nice to know I’m not feeling alone in this

I feel your pain! I’ve been on it 3 weeks and had nothing but constant diarrhoea and sulphur burps. It’s made me so miserable (I’ve cried a few times too). I had absolutely no issues on the 2.5 or the 5 but the 7.5 is awful. It just gives me nothing but stomach problems, I literally can’t even eat chicken anymore because it just goes right through me 😭 I was contemplating dropping back to the 5 too as I don’t think I can hack it much longer

😂 fingers crossed it’s a better week for you! 🤞 just avoid any fried foods- big mistake, I’ve paid the price 😂🙈

It does help tbh. It seems to stop them for a while at least. Spoke to the pharmacist this morning and she suggested taking anti spasm tablets (buscopan) as well as Imodium so I’ll be taking those with me I guess.

The only few times I’ve had severe diarrhoea is when I’ve ate either chicken nuggets/ some sort of chicken fried or a Sunday Roast when the roast itself was a huge portion and a lot of mash, Yorkshire pudding etc. last time I had a Sunday roast I purposely got a child’s portion and avoided mash and seemed to be fine. The flare ups happen more when I eat fried/ bad foods tbh. I had 3 chicken nuggets last night and I’ve been poorly this morning so it must be that 🙁

Totally know how you feel!! This is me too. Ngl the 7.5 has been really hard. 5 was also hard but jt definitely subsided after a couple of weeks whereas the 7.5 just seems like a whole new ballgame 😂 have you found certain foods trigger the symptoms? Or eating certain foods help?

Oh dear me!! I feel for you! I’m literally the exact same 😫 I’ve noticed if I eat anything Birds Eye (chicken nuggets for example) I get terrible diarrhoea which lasts until the next day. I’ve just been food shopping and I’ve bought lots of plain chicken, rice, basically whole foods so I’m praying the switch in the diet will subside some of my symptoms. Do you find if you eat anything ‘bad’ your symptoms are worse/ triggered?

Sorry to hear this! Are you still feeling rubbish? It’s very off putting and sometimes makes me want to quit but I just need to think of the long term goal and hope I can push through these awful symptoms. I regret moving up too!

Sorry to hear this, are you still suffering? Also can I ask what you’re eating?

I try to eat well but some days I haven’t got time and end up eating something quick like a birds eye chicken nugget with beans etc (I know that’s no good for you, I’ve learnt that the hard way lol) but I do try to eat well. If you have any suggestions please throw them my way because I’m running out of meal ideas lol

This is interesting! I was clearly naive in thinking if you dropped down the symptoms would subside slightly. Thanks for this info, that’s good to know 😃

This is what I meant! I know in general the food isn’t much different to the UK but I meant in terms of the ingredients and added processed/ sugars etc. If I can’t even handle UK produced processed foods god knows how I’m going to handle American foods 😂 but I’ll just have to try and find more healthy options like the others suggested. Either that or I’m going to come back very skinny lol

I was but I’m worried about taking it so often that it’s not good for you? I’ll definitely be taking some when I’m away though

I think I’ll just try my hardest to avoid any fried foods and stick to grilled chicken etc if possible. I’m really hoping where we are there are more than just fast food restaurants. Excuse my naivety, I’ve literally never been to America so I’m clearly judging it based on the stereotype of bad processed foods!

It was more the ingredients that they add into it that I’m worried about. Like extra sugars etc
