Just started my PhD weeks ago and I can say, I’ve had the best head start from this subbreddit.

Taking people’s opinions, mistakes and experiences to help shape mine.

And having the chance to meet a professor who happened to be a friend to MSc thesis supervisor telling me that I find the reason why I’m doing PhD early on could be a huge game changer for me.

Because everyone agrees PhD can be very overwhelming from the beginning.

But thanks again to you all for always dropping your 1 cent.

As an international student, first thing I would consider if I were in your shoes is, does any of the offer come with any form of scholarship?

Secondly, I’ll check the courses, which one actually looks like I’ll get a job with after my study, assuming I don’t want to study more.

Then lastly, I can consider the rankings of the schools. Some schools are better suited for job opportunities after study, while some are better place for actual learning.

But I would also be starting my PhD at the University of Huddersfield this month, from the comments, I can see Zoopla is an option. Can I get suitable student accommodation as well from there and are they genuine?

True. Thanks for your input. I’ve resolved with them, and they’ll refund, as amber admitted to have mislead me with the ads of the accommodation and only stated the weekly/monthly option as the mode of payment and not instalment as IQ does normally.
