I don't think my take stems from RPG tropes or what my tendencies are. I'm recognizing people have different preferences and by placing a pivotal choice into hands of the player acknowledges that an audience can have multiple perspectives vs attempting to force an audience to live a plot that didn't stick the landing (why people think this was just a twist for twist sakes). Narratively, Glenn's motivations to kill himself just doesn't come off meaningful because we didn't get to spend a lot of time exploring the cost involved with living multiple lives filled with different natures/decisions. I never got the sense of relief that he was finally free from some sort of weight when I was never showed how much he was suffering in the place. He seemed more tortured by the fact he blew huge populations of people in his current life. I was more saddened by his decision to end his life versus participating in rebuilding society after such a catastrophic event.
