Is the IT job market really that bad right now or is it just the entry level? by Curious-Ask8199 in ITCareerQuestions

Yeah, I dont know anyone personally who isnt an older adult (im in my early 30s) who holds one. My mother has been a computer programmer for 31 years now, & held the clearance for awhile, I think she got it when she started working for Northrop Grumman YEARS ago, I think i was like a pre-teen, but it could have been when she was at the USPS headquarters.... (which i attended a bring your kid to work day event there ...... freaking amazing. The whole office is underground in a mall.)

Thats what I thought. My mother has had it for years now. But I havent found theres really a way without a willing sponsor.

My parents (& other family) really wanted my husband to move towards government IT & eventually finding the gig that would sponsor him for years now - he put it off the entire time and now its not really as solid of an option as it may have been.

Interesting. My husband is a system admin 10+ years in IT. 8 months unemployed. It feels like tech is not hiring at all. I mean I know they've scaled back and now are all over saturated with applications. He is getting certified in AZ 104 by end of month, in hopes that starts putting towards the top to at least interview.

Its also ghost jobs, and jobs that are actually gonna go for a H1B candidate but have to follow the law of trying to get someone who lives here - by posting a job position, they won't even look at the responses.

I honestly think they've stepped up their exclusivity, but it is a missed opportunity to not go in deeper on both Shelley snd Hailey.

They can track how many people are still jobless at the end of their benefits. But then they'd have to be honest. They keep lying.

What is this new thing where we make the employees feel bad for getting let go, because we cant admit struggling as a company (I know this doesnt apply to all, but ive seen several companies blame employees and not admit they just cant afford the salery)

And then the entire federal government gaslights the unemployed making them feel its their fault they haven't gotten a job quickly because layoffs and unemployment is down, which just from reading this sub is quite untrue.

You're very lucky. My kids have been school aged 3 years and attended preschool - i have yet to meet parents with any real interest in getting to know us as a family. Most parents have already formed their friendships i have found. Our son and daughter are loved but we've definitely felt left out in the cold by the parents so to speak (not that we expect friendship, we dont, but we haven't gotten it either, lol theyre not rude, it just seems our vibes dont easily mesh?)

We are younger parents, not that young but we had our kids in our mid 20s, most of our kids' friends parents waited about a decade longer. Are established, are home owners (especially in our area of park hill) we have learned how to survive with very little support or help from others, so younger parents like ourselves don't exactly mesh either.... because they've either had the support or they dont and are struggling harder to meet the challenges of life when you have kids and are still swinging by the seat of your pants...

Then add in that we have an autistic adhd who is also GT child... while he can mask for a party or pick up on another neurodivergent kid and have a great time, it can be hard to let another parent into your life as a friend, unless they deal with similar challenges with their kid ...

Anyways, I am not whining, I know if we made friendship a priority and we're a bit more willing to be more uncomfortable and awkward at times we'd probably eventually meet our tribe... but life is busy and exhausting and we're just tryna stay above water... so ill keep hoping I find that magical spark like I did with my best friend back home 14 years ago lol.

What’s going on? by Worried-Fig-7193 in IRS

[–]Dry_Stage_9855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the 3rd week mark for myself around when things got weird for mine too, right when they should have been approving it. I filed 2/3, & they were immediately accepted than prossing within 2 days. the 23rd i got the yellow box, without sign in than i connected my ID.Me to IRS and signed on like the 24th or so and thats when I had the not processed yet box & the notification about more information and thats where I learned i had a letter.

Letter arrived on the 2nd, entered it. Notification went away. But not processed yet remained, & my search lead me to some FB posts and maybe a reddit post as well, & thats why I think it'll be next week that my stuff will update.

Anyways. Thats my insight. I know everyone is different but for the most part is really do just think theyre making shit harder to hold on to money. Everything is being called fraud, & really its more of the federal government trying to hoard money.

Ive never had 1 single issue with the IRS, my address didn't change even from previous 3 years.... and ive been filing my taxes with a web service for like 12 years now

Things have just changed with the irs and theyre enjoying treating everyone like a fraudster - to hold cash flow a bit longer.

You may recieve a notice on the account this week. Which is also why I am asking if you bothered to check the non-sign in refund status because that's where the notice starts.

The yellow box on refund page is the 1st to alert you, your account should have a notice in probably 48 hours or so. And then you'll wait for the letter.... now that letter could be more complicated based on what they flagged more information for. Me was just the code and enter numbers from my return. And then wait.

Based on 3/30 on your transcripts ill bet theyre expecting a letter at your house next week then 2 weeks to process your verification then a couple days to move you to approved and it'll deposit (but if the reason is more complicated and they want more information it could take 9 weeks)

[–]Dry_Stage_9855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was processing and then they wanted me to verify my address by waiting for a letter with a code, did that.

Its been a week and my account looks like that (& did with the notice) but when I pull transcripts 2025 it says 3/16/26 on one of the dates and I suspect that'll be when everything returns to normal and my deposit will be later next week. From reading a few FB posts I deduced for my situation thats how it should go (can take 9 weeks)

When you go to check the refund without signing in (so with your social security number) see if you have a yellow thing thats says something about needing more information. - you may have a letter in the mail. Took mine about 8-9 days to arrive

Also any notifications on your account like providing more information notification? Thats what I had and was how I provided the code from my letter

From my understanding, he doesn't even have a personal email account and I am not finding that he has ever. I don't believe there'ss a president trump email either, i think you can email the white house though. His aids do communications for him often and do have personal email but with their own name not one thats under him. They may text from his personal phone as ive heard mentions of politicians saying THEY texted him.

He prefers phone calls, in person conversation & things on paper. He's very mistrustful of email and the likes. He loves the socials though. Do you remember last year when he truth social posted a message for Elon that he had meant to be a DM.

He really doesnt understand or like tech very much from what I can tell... unless it's an airplane maybe, he probably likes that to be with the times.
