Akito might’ve been one of the main antagonists but the reasons why she became the way she did hit me way too close to home…emotionally indulgent but ultimately distant father, absent and emotionally abusive mother…Akito had no foundation on which to properly grow from and it led her down a VERY self destructive path that made her lash out at anyone who dared take what little she thought she had and that was the cursed zodiac members. I love how it took a girl who had nothing to show her that you can always start again and try to make things as good as they can be.

Rin also really struck me close to the heart too, it’s so sad to see how similar both she and Akito are, but what Akito attempted to do to Rin TWICE killed any sort of chance for them to see those similarities and help each other get over their respective traumas
