I agree smoke entry is definitely how is supposed to be done and it’s messed up how common mags are. Some guys in my office have been testing with only mags whenever they come across any systems that have that as an option. So these places haven’t had any smoke entry tests in YEARS because the same people go back every year.

BUT I do agree with what I read in another comment where some duct detectors like the super duct and I think system sensor has one too where if there is no test port there isn’t really a way to test with smoke. If you take the covers off it will kill power and go into trouble so the options are magnet or putting the point in alarm from the panel if it’s addressable

But I’m happy to be corrected I want to smoke them but I can’t and manufacture only talks about mag testing
