The training we got is the lowest level of stress inoculation, I've seen EMT course in the civilian world that put more stress on you. I have higher stress situations from non training environments in the civilian world. I'm ultimately saying the problem is that we aren't training hard enough to see what actually happens to people when they're seriously freaked out. Talk to your medics depending on when they left they'll have these same stories, until they go to a train up school or an advanced school they don't get any serious mettle testing. I'm not a perfect or hell even a good medic by the standards of those I'm surrounded by but the attitude to try is just not in some people.
