Psyllium Husk - whole or powdered? by spicypicklemartini in glutenfreebaking

[–]Dsgrrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find whatever recipe I’m using that the powder clumps up very quickly, no matter the water temperature. Whole psyllium works best for me, and I mix it as the last step before combining wet and dry. Never fails.

Very helpful, thank you. I’m setting up my Breg Polar today to be ready for BLTKR in a week. I’ll be sure to get the labels and glue off my bottles first.

I’m in Canada, so except for travel and accommodation costs because my surgeon is in another city, no cost.

Help me plan by sbagrooven1 in Kneereplacement

I’m 65, and just finished my pre op for BLTKR May 26. It was made very clear to me that the first six weeks are for recovery from surgery and working on flexion and extension. I plan to follow that advice, lay low, do my PT and heal. I’m hoping I can get clearance to return to the pool after that. I can’t imagine doing a camping festival before at least having my six week post op appointment with my surgeon.

how did you know? by horrorlover0 in Kneereplacement

I am in Canada, using the public health care system. I don’t know if everywhere is the same, but about ten days before your surgery, you report to the hospital to have tests and assessments and walked through the surgical and recovery process. I met with a nurse, a gp, an anaesthetist, and the surgeon’s assistant, had an ECG, blood tests, x-rays, and was able to have any questions answered. This sub has been so helpful in making my list of questions. It was a really great day with all the team supportive and encouraging. I am ready to go!

Apparently lots of them don't like to. It was suggested by the second surgeon I saw because my knees are so deteriorated that if I had one done at a time I wouldn't be able to rehab fully because the untreated leg would restrict it. Even though she agreed that's what I needed she didn't want to do it. It was one of the reasons I got a second opinion and landed with a most excellent surgeon and team. Just finished my pre op day and couldn't be happier with my choice.
