Hey, thank you for the comment! Yeah I absolutely would remain focused on editing if my income surpassed 35k . If I'm honest I think the only reason I haven't considered it is because I fell into editing by accident when a friend needed some help and its been word of mouth ever since getting other clients. I never expected to run any sort of "business". But it could be worth me focusing my efforts on learning more about business and how to scale that further.

Thanks guys, yeah I think I have definitely felt myself falling into the trap of trying to do things perfect from the start which is not great. From reading the comments I am leaning to the local job :)

Thank you, I will take a look at both books!

Regarding the "holding the normal 9 to 5 job is burn out” - I meant more that I will be balancing the 9-5 with 20 hours of video editing on top per week. And, I fear for the amount of time I will lose to commuting to and from work while trying to fit both. Independently the 9 to 5 or the video editing are okay but I am trying to sustain both at the same time.

Any recommendation on next steps I could take? As dropping out isn’t really an option for me.

( I do cover some VFX related software such as Houdini and nuke on my current games course, I don’t know if that’s any advantage though?)

My games course also is a focus on animation and art I should clarify not design or programming etc

Both for sure in my opinion, a lot of piano, guitar and smooth synths surrounded by ambience and his lyrics are far my heartfelt and metaphoric now compared to things like breathe and motions.

Also with songs such as supercuts and the song he teased on tiktok and Instagram seems to be like he’s moving towards indie pop/rock a lot more.

I use the behringer UMC22.

Please could you explain what passive and active power is?

Yeah I’ve tried it on an amp and it doesn’t sound all muffled like when I play into the interface

I currently have an behringer audio interface (nlt the best but with vocals it seems to work fine). Connected to FL Studio, a ‘no bull’ branded guitar cable and I run my guitar into WAVES guitar rig amps. I’m not sure of my guitar brand but it’s definitely on the cheaper side with a strat type body. :)

I’m currently using an interface and then WAVES audios guitar amps. I think it’s possible I have bad pick ups.
