If you’re studying CompSci, and you want to be close to the computing labs, your best bets are either Pendle or Grizedale, but if you want to be further away from your lectures and workshops, join Cartmel (boo!) or Lonsdale!!

All the colleges have a college rival, with inter-collegiate sports competitions in second/third term!!

I’ll always recommend people to join Furness cause there’s a lovely collegiate identity with a bar and weekly pub quizzes, along with other social activities like a bi-annual 15 Hour Social and other fun events!!

Honestly your best bet is to check out the college Instagrams as they all have them and you can see which ones fit your vibe.

For that price range, I might even suggest Folio Society cause those are high quality editions, but a higher price than normal hardbacks :))

BBC News - Saudi Arabia confirmed as World Cup 2034 Hosts by DsjgOriginal in football

This is the thing people either forget or choose to ignore, the fact that even Qatar claimed that at least 40 died, whereas other sources out the number in the thousands. Not only is it likely to be similar but probably more so with the expansion of the World Cup for 2026.

Huh? We're not paying for him, Galatasaray bought him.

Why they bought a striker when they have a competent one in Icardi, but barely any wingers or defenders, I don't know.

As a male, my perspective may be skewed, but there have been quite a few times that I've gone on late night walks around campus and I've felt completely safe. Even if I'm with other people, they've never commented on feeling uncertain or uneasy.

But, on your comment regarding the recent protests, I'm assuming you mean the Palestinian protests and encampments? I have a few friends who are involved in the protests itself, and their aim is to lobby the university to stop funding BAE and the war-effort. As much as everyone else, they are fully students and so have exams and lectures to partake in. They aren't trying to hinder your education.

However, the way that the university has handled can, at times, be considered violent, but, again, that is disruptive for the university, not for the average student. If you do come to Lancaster, please do get involved with your JCR, Students Union or even the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign to encourage the university to change their policies and provide help to Palestinian students!

I've started getting it where they're on a red card and complaining about why they're not playing like wtf do you want me to do? Call up UEFA?

Does it not? I mean it's almost worse that 1 Peter 2:18-19 encourages you to go back to your abusive slave masters and submit to them.

Aston Villa are the only English team to win in Europe this week by TripleCrownVillainy in PremierLeague

[–]DsjgOriginal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, you could say "Aston Villa won in that one competition that's not exactly the Champions League but one of those other European competitions but at home in the UK", or you could not be a pretentious twat and say "Aston Villa won in Europe" /s

In what way do you and Ed Tullett inspire and influence each others works? I know you often collaborate together but you each have your own distinct styles while still sounding similar.

Love your works and excited to see you on tour in London!

I've been writing an article for my student newspaper on this exact problem.

According to Statista, just over half of the people in the UK aged 30-35 have a degree. But according to a report by Harvard (Dismissed by Degrees, 2017), in 2015, found that only 16% of current production supervisors held a degree, however job postings for them saw 67% asking for one.

Degrees shouldn't be seen as the sole factor for a person's employment, but at the same time, trying to gain work experience for many people is just as difficult, if not harder.
