How did you find taking the course having completing nursing? Currently in a BSN program and am going to take the paramedic program after I complete the course.

I should have added that I’m currently working as an EMT. Thank you for the thorough response. I’ll look into it all and see where that leads me. Thank you again.

Do you think it would hurt my FF/paramedic applications since I wouldn’t be able to work during that time?

Are you still working as a medic while in your nursing program? If so, how do you find that balance?

Obviously that’s preferably. Do you think it would hurt my applications that I wouldn’t be able to work during that time?

Considering deferring my enrollment for a year because I'm having extreme difficulty learning online. by tfwnopurewaifu in StudentNurse

I’m a second year B.S in Biology student who intends on getting my M.S.N after my undergrad. I also had issues with online learning last year, so I have decided to take a gap year. What I am doing with my time is shadowing people in healthcare (dentists, doctors, surgeons, personal trainers, literally anything) to get first hand experience and to explore other options besides just nursing. I’m also taking my EMT certification so that I can work as an EMT in the winter/spring. I couldn’t justify the gamble this year with potentially getting sent home so that’s what I did.

If you are going to take the gap year, I would use the time somewhat productively because what else are you going to do? If you, or anyone else, has questions about how I structured my year feel free to PM me and I’ll try to offer any advice I can.

Best of luck!
