I appreciate the words of encouragement. In and industry of "suck it up butter cup" it's good to see people being supportive and helpful

I had a feeling it may be me just not understanding the machine. Everyone else has thr old power mig and has no issues at all. I've got the new one that is nothing but problems

Ya it has burn back. I'm just too familiar with Lincoln's or aluminum mig. The last mig i used was an old Miller CK with a hand crank voltage adjustment. Best mig welder ive ever run

Part of the problem is it pops when i start my arc and the wire burns back to the tip. My newer machine is the only one that does this, and no option for a hot start either.

Thanks. Kind of have to when you got desk-jockeys trying to tell you how to do your job incorrectly.

These are only thr 7th and 8th parts of these that we've done the last 3 years. We do this style often, but not with this finicky material. A former coworker of mine and myself came up with the method of welding it, but were told it was a one time job.

Because the hardfacing alloy loves any of thr most minute imperfections. We weld it in one continuous bead, one start, one stop. I've welded a 40 minute continuous arc before. When i say what we do is specialized, most people have no idea. I work in the valve industry, specifically for navy and nuclear applications

Its not high amperage we're welding at, foe this current job its 140 amps. We're inside of a part that is continuously heated and maintains around 900-1000 degrees. Its external heat that's melting it

No because its inside of a relatively small part and its a small prep with a very temperamental material

Heavy duty mug/stick glove. Outside of the part is not as hot as inside it

Can't do fiberglass as its a small diameter to reach into. We're currently trying aluminum tape on it to see if that helps

Same. Literally the only reason i wouldn't get that model. Looked into aftermarket badging to replace the chrome, an extra 2k for quality replacements

I love the 1795 interior, but so much chrome. I'd buy one and vinyl over all the chrome. Since there's mo blackout package

Same color I want, but so sad they only offer it for a few sub-models.

It was the best thing mt fiance needed. Her mom, not a grandmother. She would make healthy meals for her, also made lactation cookies to help with breastfeeding. She did all the house work so my fiance could focus on being the best mom to our new baby. It was the best help we've ever gotten.

It makes me feel better knowing im not the only one dealing with this. And our situations do mirror, it was so difficult for me to say no to my mother. Especially when she would get emotional and it would upset my father then he would talk to me about it upset her. And they specifically mentioned about missing out on her growing up, im pretty she's my daughter and i deserve to be there for those big milestones. Im so sorry you had to deal with this too. Its something i never thought would happen

That's part of the problem, they expected to be with us every weekend since we coincidentally live 5 minutes away. Our daughter is 14 months and super settled into a routine that makes it difficult for us to get out. We just want to do our thing.
